This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

To those who don't play RPGs, I might be the roleplaying guy who is sexy.  To those who do play, I'm just a guy who is sexy.

Quote from: joewolzI am also so awesomely hawt & cool looking that no one would ever think I'm a gamer.

Is that how that came out? Really, it's not my intention to imply that I'm so hawt and sexay that no one would think I'm a roleplayer (I wouldn't go so far as to deny it either :p )

Just that in a radius of 50 kilometers I don't fit the common mold, apparently. The stereotype locally seems to lean more towards the skinny, long-haired guy, with optional glasses. Which just happen to be traits I don't posess. But that doesn't imply that the stereotype is correct (far from it, in fact), just that local shopkeepers act on it.

I have several friends who are really into RPGs and pretty active in the online scene, not to mention the creator of Wushu is my brother-in-law, so there's several of us "RPG guys" in my extended group of gamer friends.  We're kind of sub-specialized as a result - one guy is really knowledgable about White Wolf and superhero RPGs, one is really into Cthulhu, etc.  Mine would probably be D20 (I'm not as into it as a lot of people are, but I definitely know more than the rest of the group) along with second-tier games in general, with some of the indie RPGs as well (mostly the crunchier ones such as Burning Wheel).  Plus, I'm the only one who has ever been into miniatures.
