This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Like HappyDaze, I made it through roughly 45 minutes before I moved onto other stuff. Some interesting discussion, but I just can't sit at my computer much longer than that to listen to a podcast.

Oh, and it was a little surreal watching two people talk to a "billboard and pipe" image.

Quote from: Trond;1038714Speaking of such things, you could have gotten away with 'historical/mythical accuracy', AND a lot more nudity and naughtiness in your Arrows of Indra, if you wanted to. The old interpretation of things like the Ajanta paintings and temple sculptures was that they were some sort of celestial ideal (and so not representative). While not entirely untrue, it turns out that these were still clothed much like normal people of the time (well, upper class mostly).  A lot of people are in denial about this in India today though, despite the fact that women of certain parts of India were still topless into the early 20th century. I'm not saying that this would necessarily have been the right choice for your game though. Perhaps I should make a different kind of game based on India :D

There tends to be two rival schools of thought on this: the modern Hindu fundamentalists that want to pretend that women were in full saris in ancient India, and then the neo-marxist anti-colonialists who want to pretend that everyone went around naked and having LGBT orgies because modesty was obviously an invention of the Evil White Man imposed on Hindus that were absolute sexual libertines before that.

The truth isn't either of those. The most likely evidence is that in the thousands of years of Indian history throughout an enormous subcontinent, there were huge variations of dress codes (and sexual behaviors).

Quote from: GRIM;1038755An hour seems to be the usual standard, but we could stand to be a bit more punchy. Give it time ;)

We had to introduce ourselves in this episode. If you take that part out, the duration of the video would be quite a bit shorter.

Our plan was to gun for around 1 hour, give or take, but really just to talk until we'd covered all the stuff we wanted to talk about.

I get that for some people that could be too long; I tend to have youtube videos playing in the background while I work, and sometimes those include 4hr lectures and things like that, so it doesn't really feel that way to me. But we'll keep thinking through the length.

S'mon

Length - for these kind of group chats around 40 minutes is good I think.

Well, we'll see how long it goes in future episodes. Like I said, this one was probably longer on account of being the first episode and covering the base of explaining to viewers who we are.
