This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Anyone here who backed Outgunned?

Not too long ago Two Little Mice (the authors of Broken Compass) had a successful Kickstarter for their new game Outgunned which I backed.

I was wondering who supported this KS as well?

I for my part love the system (still waiting for the print versions but the Core Rulebook and Action Flicks are already available as PDF). It seems to be very simple and great for short campaigns.

I am already planning a Mass Effect campaign using it.

Here I am, went for the All In tier (mainly for the fucking pencil...). It's practically a massive improvement over the pretty good Broken Compass ruleset, the only thing that leaves me a bit unhappy is the handling of long term play. While a bit better than Broken Compass "6 to 10 sessions and then game over" approach, I would have liked a more pronounced decoupling between characters and campaigns.
Having said that, I'm going to convert the multigenerational, multiseason Broken Compass campaign (a crazy hunt for Atlantis put in motion by Sir Isaac Newton and ending in the present day) that I was planning to Outgunned.
I'm here to talk about RPGs, so if you want to talk about storygames talk with someone else.

I see where you are coming from.

I needed some time to get my head around why they did it like that. And it makes sense.

A Cinematic Campaign take 6-8 missions and should be like a movie.
So when you compare it to a typical movie series:
Part 1 is one Cinematic Campaign.
Part 2 is another Cinematic Campaign.

And your PC can have 3 Advancements overall. Only the experiences remain after that and you might switch Feats.

So either you are using the same PC as in the previous mission and reset it (that would be Lethal Weapon or Die Hard) or you use your old PC (that might be Ellen Ripley from Alien).

I love that Two Little Mice is quite transparent about their intentions.

Regarding my planned Mass Effect campaign the length of one Cinematic Campaign is enough.

And the support is quick, friendly and helpful.
