Any setting, any definition of "weapon".
For example maybe a weapon that operates like a railgun but requires physic energy to accelerate the payload instead of coils?
Or for something more medieval, maybe a category of mace with a hollow shaft that contained a lead ball/smoke bomb that could be released at the push of a button/switch for a one-time ranged attack?
Paintball guns, rifles and grenades to fight vampires and weres.
Supersoaker for the same purpose.
But it was more homebrewing the ammo than the gun.
Yes, Barbed & Snaring (Entangling). Not published, but expressed repeatedly in this and other forum boards.
They were in response to how D&D 5e weapon list was starting to get rather stale, as people were reading it as finite. Yet spells and feats in official and 3rd party publishing were ever-expansive. Humanity has had barbed and snaring weapons and tools for millennia to deal with fliers and swimmers, as fliers and swimmers were also food sources (or threats). Yet people always insisted spells and feats should A) always be better, B) should exist in exclusion, C) were more "engaging" than mere exchangeable gear.
It was just another in a long line where I just shrugged and went back to AD&D. Harpoons, lassos, nets, whips (entangling), some polearms, mancatchers, fish-hooks, gaffs, grappling hooks, etc. all of that existed before, but were a bridge too far for this age and character optimization. ::) Whatever, go buy another "101 Widgets to Pwn Yur Table" splatbook.

The "holy water sprinkler" is a mace with a number of small gun barrels drilled into it. Gun blades were real but not very good. You get a worse pistol and a worse sword for your trouble. But they are very cinematic.
I added a 'hacking' category for axes to Dragonbane's slashing/piercing/bludgeoning, since axes don't slash & slashing weapons in the game are poor vs chainmail, not true for axes IRL.
