This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Angus McBride has passed away.
:(

I'll always cherish the amazing covers he produced for Rolemaster and the Middle-earth Roleplaying lines during the 1980s and early 1990s.  He had a brilliant, distinctive style.  As a teenager, his pictures represented Middle-earth to me.

A great loss.

Oh, fuck. He was a grand master. Rest in peace.

Yeah, McBride really had his own style, rather remote from the usual fantasy rabble. Both his LotR and his Osprey work had a certain style that no other artist could offer.

Lloyd Alexander has died, too. I always liked the Taran novels. I even liked the Disney movie...

Times like these, it's hard being an atheist...

Pity. He did a lot of good stuff, especially for MERP.

I like to think that the afterlife for artists looks exactly like their work. They finally get go to a place that represents exactly how they visualise the world.

Of course this means that when his time comes Erol Otus is screwed.

It could be worse. You had this SCAR guy who did the worst illos ever for Werewolf.

I really hope that he goes to an afterlife like his fucking paintings.

McBride made MERP for me. He's a great who will be missed.

Lloyd Alexander too? This is a poor week for Fantasy fans.

We seem to be losing a lot of shining stars in our little galaxy as of late, don't we?
