This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

AIEEEEEE! Storm Constantine is in town!

Holy smokes! On this saturday, she´ll be reading and signing books in a specialty bookstore!

I´ll bring a camera for the fans. Any questions that I should ask her?
If there can\'t be a TPK against the will of the players it\'s not an RPG.- Pierce Inverarity

The Yann Waters

Well, which of her novels have you read? Incidentally, I met her some years ago when she was invited to Finncon over here as a guest of honour. She hosted a discussion on the role of angels in fantasy literature, and especially in her own Stalking Tender Prey.
Previously known by the name of "GrimGent".

Settembrini

Oh, she´ll read from the Wraeththu books. I´m sure lots of interesting people will be present.

Heroism is no more than a chapter in a tale of submission.
"There is a general risk that those who flock together, on the Internet or elsewhere, will end up both confident and wrong [..]. They may even think of their fellow citizens as opponents or adversaries in some kind of 'war'." - Cass R. Sunstein
The internet recognizes only five forms of self-expression: bragging, talking shit, ass kissing, bullshitting, and moaning about how pathetic you are. Combine one with your favorite hobby and get out there!

Am I missing something? Who's Storm Constantine?

A British author of gothic fantasy and science fiction, perhaps best known for her two Wraeththu trilogies which recently served as the basis for a rather unsuccessful and misguided RPG.
Previously known by the name of "GrimGent".

Oh, Wraethtu. My internal word associator lists "flowers, androgynous vampires, tentacles" for this particular keyword, right?

Hmm, how does someone who writes this look like.

Oh my. The goggles, etc.

Not really. They are androgynous, though, or more precisely hermaphroditic.

I don't know why but I always confuse Storm Constantine with Mary Gentle*

I know nothing of this subject but have heard plenty of bad on that game,
if the books are so good, what was wrong with the game??

According to the article, they both belonged to the same group of writers in the nineties: perhaps you've read one of the anthologies?

Wow, I've seen Warhammer armies with less paint.

And I always thought I knew all the goth empowerment fantasies. I have to take a closer look at my next LARP, between the daywalker vampires and the cat demi-gods, maybe I'll find a Wraethtu...
