This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Here's an OSR line of products that doesn't seem to be talked about too much.  I've done my online research and it looks good to me, the only negatives being (a) I don't really need more gaming stuff, it would largely be just for reading pleasure, and (b) money - if I bought everything that "looks good" I'd be living in a cardboard box.  So, do you folks have any opinions on this?
I know how the illegals feel. I'm an alcoholic & they keep setting up these random DUI checkpoints. You have no idea what a chilling effect this has had on the alcoholic community. I know people who are too terrified to even drink & drive anymore. I am literally shaking... mostly in my hands...

I have the 1st edition of the game. Not sure about the latest, but from what I can tell you it's IMO what's advertised: what would have 2nd ed AD&D could have been if EGG was still around at TSR. Character classes like the montebank, jester, and mystic are included. Cavalier is back under fighter. I can elaborate more later after work.
1. I'm a married homeowner with a career and kids. I won life. You can't insult me.

2. I've been deployed to Iraq, so your tough guy act is boring.

Depends on what you're looking for.  As the other poster noted, it's basically AD&D 1.75, imagined as if various things in Dragon Magazine and other things added late in 1e, like proficiencies, were expanded.  it plays pretty much like AD&D.  Some things I like, others I don't, like the concept of buying extra skills with XP.  But it's really good if you're looking to add a few new classes, monsters, etc. to your existing 1e or OSR or similar game.  I mostly play Castles & Crusades, but I've found a number of Joe Bloch's supplements very useful like The Book of Lost Beasts, The Book of Lost Lore, Swords of Wuxia, & Swords of Cthulhu.. These are all easily ported into other systems and include some fun classes like mystics and savants, new spells, weapons, magic items, etc.  So if you don't want to invest in a whole system, it's easy to grab what you like.

Plus, Joe Bloch, aka Greyhawk Grognard, is a good dude, having met him at North Texas RPG Con a few years back.

I got rid of my 1st edition books (complete set) along with a ton of other stuff, BUT, it is literally AD&D post-UA, pre-2nd. It is a very nice game if you like AD&D, although you could probably cobble together stuff from Dragon Magazine and other sources, add it to AD&D, and end up with the same thing. If you're super lazy and unmotivated, he did all the work for you.
It takes considerable knowledge just to realize the extent of your own ignorance.

Thank you all.  I do enjoy Joe Bloch's YouTube channel a lot, and the fact that it's "AD & D 1.75" is a selling point for somebody like me.
