This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

In a brand new adventure for Lion & Dragon or any medieval-authentic campaign in an OSR or D&D (or other fantasy campaign), RPGPundit Presents #40: The Tower of the Mad Astrologer is an awesome new adventure.

Owain Ap Eynon is a powerful but dangerous wizard, who was driven mad upon drawing power from the Maen Du'r Arddu standing stone. He has raised a small band of Welsh Hillfolk as rebels against the state, creating his own petty fiefdom in the mountains and building a tower with the assistance of summoned demonic forces. His tribesmen now raid villages to loot and sacrifice new victims to the Corraneid (Star-Elves), who periodically demand human brains for their own sinister purposes.

This is an adventure for middle or higher level characters (or tremendously clever, lucky and careful low-level characters) with a dangerous magical foe. It features elements from actual Welsh history and folklore/myth, and a dangerous tower based on real medieval constructions of the era to provide deadly surprises to the characters who dare enter it unbidden.

For just $2.99, you can buy The Tower of the Mad Astrologer from DTRPG, or from the Precis Intermedia Webstore.

I am now considering writing a parody of this. I shall call it, "The Tower of the Slightly Cranky But Really An OK Guy Once He Has Had His Coffee Astrologer."

The entire adventure will be a dungeon crawl to recover enough coffee to make a full pot.
"Meh."

You should probably buy the original to make sure you have a really good parody of it!

I'll drop you a few points:

-The Mad Astrologer is a Welshman.

-He's also raised up a bunch of angry Welsh hillfolk to revolt

-There's a lake with a demon in it

-And an evil standing stone

-And a tower that was built by a demon, that has all kinds of interesting construction that makes it hard to be raided

-The Mad Astrologer is in communication with a race of star-elves called the Corraneid

-They want human brains for reasons unknown
