This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Is there any way to get a digital version of the spell descriptions?
What´s the matter with the 2. core rules?
Are the texts extractable?
How about the first CD-Rom, 1.0? Is it flawed?
What´s in the exapansion packs?

Yes, there's a 6000-page pdf which contains the "core books" plus a good dozen supplements. Since it contains the PHB, it has the spells as well. I don't know if it's available commercially these days, but it shouldn't be that hard to find illegal copies of it online. Not that I approve of such a thing or encourage anyone to look for it, y'know.

QuoteWhat´s the matter with the 2. core rules?

I don't understand the question. Please clarify.

QuoteAre the texts extractable?

I guess if you have some pdf editing software, then yes. Unless the file has some sort of change protection in it. I wouldn't know if it does, though.

QuoteHow about the first CD-Rom, 1.0? Is it flawed?

Well, "how about it"... it's round, shiny, has digital data on it and can not be used to deflect police radars by hanging it on the dashboard. Because of the latter, I'd say yes, it's flawed.

But seriously, look two answers above.

QuoteWhat´s in the exapansion packs?

Well, you know, the usual stuff. Adventures in the adventure modules, campaign settings in the campaign setting modules, stuff and rules in pretty much everything. I hope you're not expecting a full list and recapt of all the hundreds of splatbooks and modules that ever came out for 2E. But see three answers above.

Sorry, I was unclear.

There was an official CDROM by TSR which had all "Core Rules" as digital version.
There were two editions, the first and the one called 2.0, as well as expansions.

I never had the 1.0 Core Rules, but the 2.0 Core Rules CD-Rom contained the Core Books, plus the Skills and Powers Optional Rules. The Expansions further extended the character building options with more kits and rule books. Its a very nice program and unfortunately was one of the babies that got thrown out with the bathwater.

A copy of the Core Rules 2.0 on Ebay will run you from $50-75 and it typically turns into a bidding war. Its almost impossible to fine the Expansion CD-Rom on Ebay and it will run you in the same range as the core CD.
