As the title says, lemme link the article:

Apparently its meant to be a real tabletop rpg despite reveling in the sillynesss of the Pythons.
Well... um... ok then.
(silly walks away)
"Python's approach was, 'Do what makes us laugh.' So we've made the game we want to play."
So, why not play toon?
I mean it, if I wanted a silly game I would play toon, there's nothing stopping me turning into a D&Desque game either.
In my experience nearly every game has a huge amount of Monty Python Humor at the table.
I am curious what specifically the game would add though.

It worked for Kingdom Hearts...

It just a franchise that hasn't been ruined yet. :P
But seriously, this is a good question. Would it be like Planescape (or Kingdom Hearts) where players jump from one skit to another? One session they're building a wooden rabbit, they next they're crucifying Brian. Maybe they can chose the manner of their own death, and leap off a cliff whilst being chased by bare-chested women.
Okay, reading more of the article, it says:
Quote... we didn't want to have it set up where, it's a Monty Python roleplaying game, here's Holy Grail Land. Here's Life of Brian Land. And here's the Flying Circus Land. That didn't seem very fun to us. A lot of it is saying: how can we have this entire bizarre universe? How does it all weave together in medieval England?
So it sounds like everything is mashed together somehow. Okay... sounds like it might be fun for a mini-campaign, but I don't see this being much more than a coffee-table book. Something you drag out and show people, but don't often play (if ever).

It will probably sell well in that capacity.
This is a joke surely?
Maybe this is a ploy to get folks to buy "The Funniest Joke in the World"?

Power Word: Kill?
The first thing that came to mind when I got the email from Exalted Funeral was a Dale Gribble quote. "I'm skeptical that you could, but intrigued that you may."

Most likely. :)
I'm just gonna say it.. I'll probably buy this.
Not sure if I'll ever play it, but it looks like it would be a fun thing to just read through.
Also, considering how several of the Pythons have spoken out against wokeness and the attack on comedy, I think it's safe to assume this book will be safe from fuckery.

The ultimate Death Magic!
It kills everyone the hears it, including the caster.
I can totally see that being in the game. :)

Except if whoever holds the rights is woke as fuck and the Pythons have no say on it. Which is very likely.

There's a book titled
Monty Python: The Case Against that summarizes the various legal battles the group went through over the years. Long story short, they own almost everything they've ever done, including buying back their entire library from the BBC. If someone wants to produce ANYTHING with the Python name, they need to deal with them directly.
Probably worth noting that buying the rights is not the same thing as owning the copyright. Trafalgar recently acquired the distribution rights to Holy Grail, but that doesn't allow them to turn around and sell those rights to someone else (this is what's known as a non-transferrable license).

That sounds somewhat promising, though.
Will the weapons list include pointy sticks for the advanced in martial arts and bananas for the beginners?

;D Hopefully!
And a soft pillow to poke in peoples' faces. And of course the obligatory Holy Hand Grenade.
Honestly, I'm a little angry I didn't think of this idea first.

and don't call me Shirley.
With familiars including a dead parrot and cats that you slam against walls?
Clever idea for a game but I think I'm going to pass on this one.
I for one am looking forward to sending the party on a side quest to chop down the mightiest tree in the forest with a herring.

Double XP if they respond with "Ni!" and refuse to do it.
