This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Ditto.

And if they are thinking of fucking with the CoC game system for the 7th edition, they should REALLY rethink their strategy. This is going to backlash BIG TIME. You don't fuck with 31 years of continuity "just because".

Or college graduates with gameology degrees.  What I don't get is when a kid is excited to be working for a game company and they got their start as a gamer when they were 9 or 10 and they have great memories of playing blah blah RPG.  And so now they are in charge of the creative department that will be doing another edition.  And the game comes out as crap.

Exactly what great memories did this guy have as a kid?

The rules are shit.  I have tried multiple times to "get into" COC, and I never get past chargen.   The rules are a huge barrier to entry.
Quote from: Black Vulmea;530561Y\'know, I\'ve learned something from this thread. Both B.T. and Koltar are idiots, but whereas B.T. possesses a malign intelligence, Koltar is just a drooling fuckwit.

So, that\'s something, I guess.

What RPG system works best for you and your group?

I'm guessing D&D is normative to you a.k.a. brain-damage.

God I hope they don't fuck with CoC.

They don't need to update them, because they got the main body of it right the first time. All they need to do is tinker with the edges a little.

None of them.  The people I play with are retarded and can't figure out WFRP.  God, I hate my life.

Savage Worlds is certified for retard use, and comes in both CoC and fantasy flavours.

Maybe it is just because when I started alot of other games resembled CoC mechanically, but what is the issue? The game wasn't that difficult to figure out, and they played pretty well in practice.

Well, I have a player who, after three years, still can't figure you don't get to add the Wild Die to your regular die.

So I guess some people are too retarded even for SW. Maybe try Barbarians of Lemuria?

BT is talking out of his ass again. Chaosium has consistently been head and shoulders above any other game company in consistency, quality, and breadth of material since the 1980s. If every game company were like Chaosium, the hobby would be a lot better off.
