Check it out! Some really cool 3D maps of the Temple of Elemental Evil:

That's awesome.
That was... way less impressive than what I was imagining it would be.

Kinda like Arrows of Indra.
It's pretty cool.
pretty underwhelming except for level 4--apparently the 3d shows a bit more elevation info in one spot.
Thanks for the mention. It takes me about 4 hours to make each of the 3D temple maps.
I have done a couple of others that you may be interested in.

I think I'll put some of these to use.
It's rare that I find online resources that are relevant to my current game.
Thanks a bunch!

Wow. That would be really clever if it actually made any sense.

To clarify, I wasn't meaning to demean the creator's efforts; its just that it seems that the ToEE is less awesome in 3d than I might have imagined.
RPGPundit
Well, ToEE is actually not as big as people seem to imagine/remember.

Yup, apparently not. But besides that, most dungeons are done pretty "flat", for a 3-d dungeon to be really interesting it would have to be something with a lot of vertical layers and semi-levels and such.

The dungeon is huge for 3rd level adventurers, trust me. Those are 10' squares, not 5'...and in every room is a good reason to go back to town and rest.

That's true, it does make for a very full experience from what I recall, to the point that some groups said "fuck this, let's go find something easier!".

TSR dungeons only became interesting in that way when they started to present them in 3-D:
Ravenloft, Xak Tsaroth, ...
A while ago I posted a link to a 3-D representation (http://www.therpgsite.com/showpost.php?p=611217&postcount=12) of the locations of the DCC module
Into the Wilds.
