This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

This video I found about 7 months ago on YouTube still haunts me in a good way.  I keep wanting my "Fantasy" game to look like it in spirit.

 Take a look : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5lKIbhNNKxk

I just ended a BANESTORM thing in mid-January. IF I go back to that setting it will be because of this vid. Never been the biggest "fan" of Fantasy and Sword & Sorcery. (Usually I prefer Science Fiction adventuring or swashbuckling in space)

Does that video inspire any story plots with the GMs on here?  Campaign settings? Character ideas?

This is what a really cool FANTASY RPG should be like :

O'Borg

Great song & video.
It's almost as good as Bandini's remake of Ennio Morricone's L'estati Dell'oro.

RockViper

This would probably make good campaign fodder. You have to love these cheesy RPG Elfmetal bands.

Dr Rotwang!

Makes me wanna run a game that starts like this:

Take this blade into thine able hands, young warrior; 'tis given unto thee to go into the world and kick some ass.

Hells yes.
Heroism is no more than a chapter in a tale of submission.

The internet recognizes only five forms of self-expression: bragging, talking shit, ass kissing, bullshitting, and moaning about how pathetic you are. Combine one with your favorite hobby and get out there!

Nice!  I love the look.

The re-orchestration of Carmina Burana into something New Age, however, is an abomination against man and gods. ;)

Defintely inspires me to run something gritty...like Game of Thrones.

My rules and comments about good GMing:
  • Improvise as much as you can
  • A character sheet is a list of items that tell you what the story should be about
  • As a GM, say "maybe" and ask your players to justify a "yes"
  • Immersion isn\'t a dirty word.
  • Collectively, players are smarter than you and will think of things you never considered.

I don't mind the different arrangement  - I still recognized it as Carmina Burana.  Also the music fit the images so well and vice versa.
