SPECIAL NOTICE
Malicious code was found on the site, which has been removed, but would have been able to access files and the database, revealing email addresses, posts, and encoded passwords (which would need to be decoded). And as is good practice, remember to never use the same password on more than one site. While performing housekeeping, we also decided to upgrade the forums.
This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Quote from: Spinachcat;1114844I wrote a Traveller Fantasy RPG many years ago and ran it for a while, about 60 sessions of playtests. Fun, but frustrating in many ways. In retrospect, I was stupid for not publishing it, but the frustrating aspects kept me from being satisfied with it.

How did you do magic?

Based it off Psionics from Classic Traveller. You would gain skill levels in general areas such as Elemental or Enchantment magic and it was mostly freeform, but your skill level was a power bracket. AKA, your damage dice was limited to your skill level. If you had Elemental-2, you could do amazing fire tricks on a 6+ with a max damage of 2D6. Like Psionics, magic used points that got drained from casting. I added reagents and rituals to make casting easier and cost less if you didn't just fast-cast the spell.

The links to Adventurer and Wanderer are both 404ing on my end. I'm necroing this thread to ask if anyone knows where I might find them? Drive Thru is no help.

Ad far as I know, Wanderer does not exist. Meaning, there is no product associated with the picture in the link below. There are threads on COTI about "Wanderer" type projects and campaigns, but they are not the object in the picture.

Check out this thread in the COTI forums:

Quote from: post 186Can anyone tell me who's actually responsible for this? (picture of Wanderer)

Quote from: post 188The guy who made it is one Dirk Remmecke, an online buddy of mine. There's a story behind this. He once owned a game store, and one fine day wanted to find out about the shelf-browsing habits of his customers. His theory: people don't look left and right. They only check out what they know already. So he did the Wanderer mock-up and for a couple of weeks left it right next to CT (IIRC). No one ever asked him about it.

I think you might be looking for Sword of Cepheus.

Sword of Cepheus 2e is actually pretty good. I have run a game of 1e and it was a good sword and sorcery rule set. I probably liked Barbarians of Lemuria more but it was fun to run.
