This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Ok, I decided I will give the Ennies judging thing a go. I do have the time required to do the project, it is something I would like to do (at least once).

So if there is anyone here who would like to be my Nominator, please PM me.:D

Thanks.

What do you have to be to be a nominator?

I've never seen any limitations on nominators, just the nominees. Given that you can nominate yourself I doubt there is much need. :)

It does not really say. Basically it seems they are a person that can verify that the nominated person would be a good person to judge the Ennies. It sounds like they call the nominator to ask why they should be nominated or something like that.

Toss a list of credentials out and I'll happily parrot them if I'm called. :)

Wow, thanks for the vote of confidence, everyone!  The amount of work involved looks a little intimidating.  The Ennies website mentions 'hundreds of products' to be judged.  I don't think I've got time for that.

If Mcrow feels up to the task I give my wholehearted support to his candidacy.

Mike,
I do not have all your info but if you email you home phone, cell, home address, email address you want listed and any boards and your handles you want listed, I will get the nomination in today.

I hate tooting my own horn, but since they require a mini bio, this is what I wrote:
QuoteMy name is Mike Crow and I have been gaming for 17 years. I started with AD&D 2ed, but also picked up D6 Star Wars, TMNT, Rifts, Palladium Fantasy, and many others. Some of the more recent games I have played have been D&D V3.5, Savage Worlds, Shadowrun 4th, and several games from small press/indie publishers. In addition to the games I have played, I'm also an avid reader of RPGs and pick up new ones regularly.

Currently, I write RPG reviews for The RPG Site, but have written reviews in the past for ENworld, Gamewyrd, and Skullring. When judging a game I feel that it is important to consider the quality of the setting, writing, editing and mechanics along with the visual & functional aspects. Just one of these does not make or break a game.

My gaming & reviewing experience as well as knowledge of the RPG industry would make me a good choice for judging the Ennies. I look forward to spending a large amount of time reading through and evaluating several of the best games of the year.

Looks like Hinterwelt has you covered on the nomination side of things, unless anyone in the know points out that multiple nominations matter, in which case I'll send one in too.

When I saw the nomination form included a request for a picture I immediately had to go check out the nominees.  Truth be told with my hair gelled back and my goatee I'd look no less eccentric than Teflon Billy.

Teflon Billy is a haircutter, I think.
Wasn´t he also the guy who´s feet we were supposed to kiss because he was so full of "non-bullshit"?
