This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

What is your favorite game?

I've been in or run a couple of games off that. "when it becomes necessary to utter a word, the entire planet must be bathed in blood." that shit was intense.

Danger

As a child of the 70's whose poor brain was malformed by the plethora of action flicks from the 80's and 90's, I like games where I blow things up, shoot things, and race around on a vehicle looking for ways to do points #1 and #2.

That's about it.

I'm deep like a  petri dish, yo.
I start from his boots and work my way up. It takes a good half a roll to encompass his jolly round belly alone. Soon, Father Christmas is completely wrapped in clingfilm. It is not quite so good as wrapping Roy but it is enjoyable nonetheless and is certainly a feather in my cap.

GameDaddy

Civilization IV (and soon V).

This is my current favorite, though I really would like to see a new version of Starflight, and I still fire up Nethack every now and again...

For awhile I really liked Eve Online as well, but the "Kill them and take their stuff" exclusive focus over other aspects of sci-fi and the click-fest farming / resource gathering methods (Which only got worse over time) resulted in me dropping the game.
Blackmoor grew from a single Castle to include, first, several adjacent Castles (with the forces of Evil lying just off the edge of the world to an entire Northern Province of the Castle and Crusade Society's Great Kingdom.

Lately I've been playing some older games I missed the first go round... and replaying old favorites.
Deus Ex still stands as one of the greats, I've gone through it three times now and I will probably play it again.
The 1st three Silent Hill games were pretty great, and damn scary.
MediEvil is another great console game that has a lot of variety and good design.

A new/old favorite is the No One Lives Forever series... FPS spoofs of old 60's spy movies like Modesty Blaise and Our Man Flint (which were pretty spoofy themselves).
Also Ico and Shadow Of The Collosus... very atmospheric action/puzzle games.

Civilization 2 is still the greatest game ever made.

Oblivion is the best fantasy RPG I have played (with a couple of mods).

Half-Life 2 and associated games (the original 3, Episode 1 & 2, Portal).  I'm a sucker for an action FPS with a good story.
