This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

If I had to guess, the people saying it's too colorful/unrealistic have accounts on the No Mutants Allowed forums.

That said, Brother Akir with the VISA sign is priceless.
"In a way, the Lands of Dream are far more brutal than the worlds of most mainstream games. All of the games set there have a bittersweetness that I find much harder to take than the ridiculous adolescent posturing of so-called \'grittily realistic\' games. So maybe one reason I like them as a setting is because they are far more like the real world: colourful, crazy, full of strange creatures and people, eternal and yet changing, deeply beautiful and sometimes profoundly bitter."

Quote from: Melan;562709Of course, there are now a bunch of people in the comment section who are arguing that giant armoured scorpion robots are unrealistic, or that the environment is too colourful. I assume none of them have ever played Wasteland.

That fuckin' comment section sometimes makes me think the world would be better off if gamers were eradicated and replaced with something easier to coexist with, like badgers or tarantulas.

Ironically, NMA apparently loved it.

And yeah, I linked Brother Akir because I love that touch. Also, because finally storming the Citadel was just one of those epic gaming moments.
Now with a Zine!

They've now released a gameplay video.

I don't want to completely oversell it, but if D&D Next had a preview this nice we'd all be holding hands and skipping through the meadows. I haven't been as excited about a computer game in some time.

Reminds me of a cross between the old Fallout and Baldur's Gate games.  I just may have to get myself a copy.
D&D is not an "everyone gets a ribbon" game.  If you\'re stupid, your PC will die.  If you\'re an asshole, your PC will die (probably from the other PCs).  If you\'re unlucky, your PC may die.  Point?  PC\'s die.  Get over it and roll up a new one.

Glad I backed!

Looks like Temple of Elemental Evil than anything else, only more modern (and optimized for ranged combat)

That Vimeo link is bad. Here's a YouTube link instead.
