Have you been following it? What do you think is going to happen to the fluff? To 9th edition? Is $100 a book/model going to be the new pricepoint?

My bet is that the same as with Storm of Chaos'll occur - Undead Legions will get roftlstomped in actual play, they'll keep pretending it's not occurring in the fluff, fans will outrage, a vote'll be called...and in the end, Grimgor will bitchslap Nagash, grab his crown and run off screaming "GRIMGOR IZ DA BEST" as fans'll again decide to troll GW and vote for orcs.
Or maybe in a less silly move, it'll be Teclis this time. You know your grimdark's a mess, when elven intervention is the less silly option. Or maybe, in a move I'd admit like with fanboyish devotion, Gotrek'll finally find his death as he duels Nagash.
Also, I suspect I might as well melt down the remains of my Bretonnians.
edit: But hey, at least Drachenmotherfuckingbadasshelms is back, so maybe not all will be shit.
Is this that big world changing event GW is running as a way to downsize the entire warhammer brand due to lack of sales big enough(40k space marines level or hobbit sales) to satisfy the shareholders? if so expect them to do as rincewind mentions then when they put out a big new rulebook it'll contain information about how entire races were wiped out(whichever ones haven't had a new army book in years and ones that dont sell) in the battle even though that didn't happen.

Main contender for races leaving are Lizardmen (who are literally leaving the damn planet after throwing a hissy fit in Nagash and getting driven out of Lustria by the Skaven), Bretonnians (what survives will likely be amalgamated into the Empire), and, well, Tomb Kings are already gone, though their troops can be part of an amalgamated Undead army.
Hobbits not doing to well either. It was an attempt to revive LOTR but that ship's mostly sailed from what Ive heard. Fantasy doesn't sell as well as 40K, but still makes a decent profit, so Im sure we'll see Hobbit/LOTR disappear first. But rumour is that End Times is for all intents and purposes 9th edition. They're just changing the fluff rather than doing a major overhaul of the rules, which I can appreciate.
What I'm seeing is a return to 3rd ed status quo: Undead as one army, Daemons/Warriors/Beastmen of Chaos as one army, etc. I kinda suspect All the elves are going to get amalgamated too.
Also, in case anyone didn't know, GW is under new management these days. Whether that means we'll see a change in business practices, I cant say. I get all my models from Chinese knockoff sellers these days.

I kinda suspect that wont be the case , at least not for a while. FWIH, End Times isn't going to have a set ending, its simply going to be the setting for Warhammer right now.
Personally what I think would be a neat way to revitalize the setting is to push it out of the Renaissance already and have The Empire advance technologically to Napoleonic-era.

That would be a hoot. Unlikely, but a hoot.
Napoleon-like Emperor in Bretonnia. Dissolution of the Empire. War in Estalia and Tilea. They might as well bring back Albion since you can't really have a Napoleonic pastiche without Britain ruling the seas.
Napoleonic fantasy is an underrepresented genre, come think of it. And it'd be a great fit for a WFRP hack, with the picaresque and sometimes positively Dickensian Career system and all.

I'd tinkered around, on and off, with RPG ideas for Napoleonic fantasy ever since I saw The Brothers Grimm... and did attempt to add some fantasy bits to Ganesha's Song of Guns & Shakos game.
It does seem like it would be a fun advancement of the Warhammer world... and begins edging into eras of fun clockwork and steam constructions (no 'punk') since Warhammer always sits across a span of centuries.
My enthusiasm is solidly with Oldhammer nowadays though...

Are they doing a "send us your results" this time, or is GW just doing its own thing?
