I finished Bayonetta 3. And I found it to be a nice conclusion to this phase of the series.

I did not agree at all with any of the online controversies about it. I just enjoyed the game from beginning to end.

Finished Act II of Hardspace.  I like the game, but the story is on rails and it is some heavy handed bullshit.

My gaming slate has been cleared...

All things are Darktide.

Got derailed by Mass Effect Legendary Edition going on sale a while back.  So, I'm all the way back to ME1 with a planned run all the way to the end.  Much nostalgic feels.

Recently passed GTA, now I'm addicted to diablo. From city to dungeon:) but it's a super addictive strategy game. Now I'm on 3 parts and I wish I had 4... The gist is simple - you make a choice between several characters and go on a journey through a dungeon, during which, of course, you have to fight all sorts of demons.  The first part I went through really long time, then my friend said that I can speed up with the runes yesgamers.com. But it's up to the player, I tried a few runes only. Well, at the end of course we have to fight the main boss in the game - Diablo. Btw, the game has cool soundtracks!

I'm back on Stellaris for a while now the v3.6 update is out. I seem to be doing better than usual (less attacks from outraged hostile civilisations) but the Galactic Community has formed and things are hotting up dramatically. My big worry at the moment is a vassal state I developed out of primitive natives that is looking toward a mercantile empire more and more, and they don't like me since I got the initial contact completely wrong - hey, there wasn't much of a clue, okay?

All I've got for gaming is a PC and Linux box, but I've got my Linux box hooked to the TV with some emulators. I only play games I own the cartridge for (kinda taboo to pirate games if you're a developer) so I only have 3 (4 because one is Final Fantasy I/II combined) games. I started playing Final Fantasy III for DS. Almost beat it one time but I committed to that castle near the end of the game too soon and couldn't beat the Cerberus. So I'm playing again, since this game doesn't require a stylus it's good for the controller and my brothers friend just gave me a big TV where the text is still readable if you lay out the screens left/right.

Rather than upgrade my PC with an expensive video card, I bought a subscription to NVidia's GeForce Now service. For $100, I get 6 months of streaming games from a RTX 3080-enabled PC in a data center.

Considering a gaming PC at that level would cost over $1000, it seems like a decent deal. Yeah, if I use the service long enough, I could have bought the card, but by that point the hardware would be obsolete. Plus, if I want to game on my PS4, I can drop the streaming service.

You have to buy the games on a separate service like Steam, but that's fine by me.

The streaming works well, and the games look pretty at 1080P. I'm playing Cyberpunk 2077 with the graphics turned up.

Finished MassEffect 1/2/3 Legendary edition.  It was nice to try out all the DLC and and try a romance option that I had passed on before (Ashley, no one, Ashley again.)  The nice thing about playing it on the PC is that I can apply some mods to make the game play like I wanted it to (heat sinks for ME2 and ME3.)

Drox Operative 2 is still my filler game, trying to get to level 100 in hardcore perma-death mode.  This is my third or fourth attempt.  Drox2 likes to do one-shot kills/ambushes at the higher levels.

Actually fired up Elite Dangerous again now that the Thargoid war is a thing.  Remains to be seen if my nice ship is a hot mess since it is a year or two since I had last played regularly.

I think I have finally kicked the daily Warframe habit even though I still follow the community.

Finished MassEffect 1/2/3 Legendary edition.

This showed up as one of the Playstation's free games this month so I downloaded it. I was hesitant to play it as I was afraid that it might have been "updated for modern audiences." I never played these games before and I'd like them to be as close to the originals as possible.

Thanks for the heads-up on that. Mass Effect Trilogy is definitely worth downloading.

Prodeus was my christmas gift to myself. It's Doom with modern gameplay features and a pixelation filter.
I put it on ultra-easy and just shoot chaos monsters in the face. It's fun. I might up the difficulty after beating it once.
The notion of an exclusionary and hostile RPG community is a fever dream of zealots who view all social dynamics through a narrow keyhole of structural oppression.

I've been playing Days Gone lately. I'm a bit surprised because I expected it to be a low effort, 8 hour adventure game but it is a pretty huge game. I think the creators were going for a Red Dead Redemption with zombies and motorcycles, especially with the camp and the main character who is a huge asshole (although Deacon from Days Gone is a much less likeable than Arthur).

The two main mechanics, motorcycles and massive hordes of zombies are both well implemented although the hordes only factor into a few missions and can otherwise be ignored unless you want to try and fight them.

But, just like Dying Light 2, the game is notable in the insertion of The Message. You've got the intentionally ugly lesbian WOCs that treat you like crap but you follow them around like a puppy dog, and your main love interest emasculates you in just about every cut scene but you can't choose anyone else (despite the fact that she literally tells you to go away). Not as bad as DL2's Lawan but still annoying. I'm about 2/3rds of the way through and just met a white dude who quotes the bible and loves America. The clock is ticking on how soon before they will reveal that he's the bad guy.

And it isn't just the lack of romance options but the entire game lacks any choices whatsoever so expect your character to do stupid things with no say in it at all.

The zombies in the game are really just a background threat and 90% of the time you are murdering other humans. Just for a change, I'd like to see a zombie game where the zombies are the main threat.

Even with all that, the game mechanics are pretty fun and the game world is nice to roam around. So I'd recommend playing it if you can get it cheap and you have a high tolerance for woke nonsense.

Now that I finally have a week off, I've begun playing Cyberpunk 2077 in earnest.

In general, I like the game, but I feel I'm not very good at it. :)

I had to replay the initial firefight dozens of times before I finally made it through. Now I'm in another big firefight, and again it feels like I'm not doing it right. The solution to that is just to keep on doing it until I figure it out.

I may need to upgrade my game controller. I've been using an inexpensive wired XBox clone, and I'm finding it too sloppy for CP2077.

Update: My 8BitDo Ultimate Wired Controller arrived this morning. It is SO MUCH BETTER than the cheapie controller. Went from struggling to get on targets to being able to hit effortlessly. And, like the cheap controller, it works perfectly out of the gate. Strong recommend. It turns out I was not the weak link in the system!
