This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

The Butcher

I long feared this day would come: my 6-year-old PC seems unable to run WoW.

But hey, that made me dust off Torchlight 2 — a game I picked up a year or so ago in a Steam sale — and give it a spin. It's a Gauntlet/Diablo/etc. clone but one of the good ones. I love how anyone can equip anything, though a little more character class variety would be nice.

They upped the graphics requirements with the new expansion?
Even the the "cutting edge" storygamers for all their talk of narrative, plot, and drama are fucking obsessed with the god damned rules they use. - Estar

Yes, Sean Connery\'s thumb does indeed do megadamage. - Spinachcat

Isuldur is a badass because he stopped Sauron with a broken sword, but Iluvatar is the badass because he stopped Sauron with a hobbit. -Malleus Arianorum

"Tangency Edition" D&D would have no classes or races, but 17 genders to choose from. -TristramEvans

I've been replaying Red Dead Redemption lately, and wishing for another sprawling cowboy epic game...and lo and behold Rockstar will deliver:

But I love Red Dead Redemption so much. I can just ride around the wilderness for hours triggering procedural events and hunting animals.

Red Dead Redemption is one of the greatest games ever. This will be a must-buy for me.

I'm currently diving deep into Battlefield One. It really is an amazing game. Patiently waiting for Pantheon and Crowfall to drop.

I'm on a Mordheim, Battlefleet Gothic, TW: Warhammer kick.

They should have called it Total Warhammer. Total War: Warhammer just doesn't roll off the tongue.

But it's got twice as much War this way, that's gotta count for something.

I started playing Child of Light again it is a fantastic rpg done in the style of a fairy tail.
Now I would like to point out it was made by ubisoft so you do have to install uplay to play the game, but you can buy it off steam.
Personally I think the game is good enough to make putting up with uplay A tolerable trade off, not that i like it.

Fantastic game. Needs playable Bretonnians.

Playing through The Witcher; Enhanced Edition. Pretty cool so far.

Also getting ready to take the plunge into the latest update of Dwarf Fortress.

Eyeballing one of the killteam boxed sets to dip my toe back into 40k.

The Butcher

My wife and I dusted off our copies of Torchlight 2 — which we bought maybe a year ago in a Steam sale — and we're having a blast. If it wasn't for the game's inability to fully respec (for which apparently there are a few mods), it would be perfect. I'm a sucker for Diablo clones, especially since getting disappointed with Diablo 3 (which wasn't even that bad gameplay-wise, just the bad writing and oversaturated all-grimdark-all-the-time aesthetics got old real quick).
