Quote from: danskmacabre;820894I got "windward" last night.

http://store.steampowered.com/app/326410/

An indie game (Only 117mb install too).
It's a sailing ship game where you trade, do missions, kill pirates, build towns etc.

It's in alpha atm, but it's very playable and a very relaxing game to play, what with the sailing about and ambient music.

The combat is pretty fun, trying to broadside pirate ships etc.

also it's sort of sandbox play and the gameworld you create is procedurally generated.

It's only $15, so worth that price.

oh i might look at that i have a shit bandwith allowence so small file sizes are always good
If your having tier problems i feel bad for you son i got 99 problems but caster supremacy aint 1.

Apology\'s if there is no punctuation in the above post its probably my autism making me forget.

It's a great fun little game. Defo worth a purchase.
I'm going to set up a Windward multiplayer server on a Raspberry pi (version 2)  soon. The developer says the rasp Pi will easily support running a Windward server.

I'll be leaving it on 24 hours a day and it'll be listed on the Windward public servers.

danskmacabre

I set up a windward server on a raspberry pi 2.
It's on the public server list in game now.
It's called "RasPirates"

If anyone is gonna play it, please try out the server and let me know how it goes.
As it's in Australia, it might be laggy for those far away.

I recently pick up a PS3 and have played a couple games so far:

Uncharted is awesome, I'm having a tremendious amount of fun. It has the perfect amount of story (cut scenes are brief, important and widely spaced) and the gun play and platforming are cool. My only issue is that the jumping and puzzles are pretty easy.

Killzone 2 is also pretty fun but altogether average. I also have killzone 3, we'll see if it improves.

I'm also replaying Wind Waker. Which is just so damn happy I can't help but love it.

Doctor Jest

I tried Payday 2 on a whim and got sucked in. I like I can just dial it up for 20 minutes to pull a job and move on. I mostly run solo because most PD2 players are batshit crazy achievement obsessives and I just like shootin' stuff, but trying to persuade some friend to try it out.

Just because I have to suggest this at every opportunity, if you like brawlers but haven't found a good one in ages, check out the demo for Yakuza 3. The game is a bit heavy on cut scenes, but it's one of the best movies I've ever played.

I'm currently lost at trying to accomplish a damn thing in mount and blade, still having fun though.

I've been back into Skyrim recently; craving news of TES VI and getting nostalgic about stealth archery (hated as it may be).

Stealth Archery is hated? It always seems like "the only" way to play. Yeah, I know there are many options, but it seems every character starts out as "I'll try a different option".

Then I meet a dragon. Melee isn't an option against a flyer, unless you like standing around alot. Magic isn't an option either--you just don't have the mana to chuck endless spells, and there's not much you can summon that will be particularly relevant against a dragon.

And so I whip out my bow...

Same thing happens with stealth: you kinda need it in so many places, that you may as well develop it. Hmm, you must have stealth, you must have a bow, wonder if there's a way to combine those tactics somehow...

Mount and Blade is a bit of a puzzle as RPGs go...just about nothing is spelled out for you as far as what you're "supposed" to do. I'd suggest looking for a strategy guide or walkthrough online somewhere, because its very easy to just wander around bashing heads (it's much fun, I admit) and miss alot of what's going on in the game.

Amen, brother. Went off to face a dragon with my heavy armor, two-handed melee Orc and got properly roasted.

So I went off to get leveled before tackling the beast head-on. Ran into some giants (all of this west of Whiterun), wham, got beatsn to a bloody orcish pulp.

Now I'm off murderhoboing my way through some side quests and generally enjoying the sandbox. Maybe I should really visit these dragon voice monks some day...

Orc is suprisingly fun in Skyrim, be sure to visit all the strongholds, which  are basically "orc only" (I think the heavy armor trainer is only available to orcs, too).

I've  never felt like rolling an orc even though the strongholds look interesting enough. I keep thinking I'm done with skyrim after tons of rerolls then something triggers my interest enough to make (yet) another character.
