This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Quote from: Benoist;611173No, not a tablet, you fucking idiot. TABLE, you know, that wooden thing you eat dinner on when you're not too lazy playing games on your console and spraying hot pockets all over your screen? T.A.B.L.E. Table. A table. This thing here:

Get it?

This is a site for TABLEtop role playing games, that you play with actual real people around an actual ta-ble. With dice. And shit like that.

Like this:

Notice the table the people are sitting at.

You need to educate yourself about tabletop RPGs.

Here, let me help you: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tabletop_role-playing_game

Read.

You're welcome.

Now you can talk about the PC games you are interested in and exchange with the other posters of the site all you want here on this thread (and in Other Games generally). But do not duplicate your thread on the Main Forum again. This would be spam. Thank you.

Quote from: jeff37923;611176You are so advanced that you cannot tell the difference between a PC RPG forum and a Tabletop RPG forum.

Rpg games on computers span out of tabletop rpg's so i can understand the confusion there, also i cant say ive ever heard of computer rpg's coming with skill levels before but i guess your that damn good you created your own :)

See my earlier post for an idea of games to try.

This thread is like a Christmas gift for wicked people.

Also, I'm surprised at how mellow the good ol' cutthroats of theRPGsite have been so far,* must be the Christmas spirit.

*Excepting Benoist's excellent "table" post.
Obvious troll is obvious. RIP, Bill.

Well, he's still around - so give him a few points. :D

I don't have any interest in computer based RPGs, sorry to say, so I can't help you there. However, the vast majority of computer based RPGs can trace their origins back to tabletop RPGs, usually either Dungeons & Dragons or Traveller. Getting to know those games may help you in the same way that modern horror writers are helped when they familiarize themselves with the works of HP Lovecraft.
"Meh."

Ok in the elder scrolls series you have Morrowwind and oblivion(there are others but they're very old so may be a pain to find) both very different type of rpg's to skyrim so you should give those a play, as for game of thrones im not sure about that one, dragon age 2 is out though and the third is due sometime in the next year so thats something to look forward to.
