This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

RIP Vicky Wyman

Not quite a gaming related thing. But significant to me.

Last Friday long time comic book writer and illustrator Vicky Wyman passed away. She was the creator of the comic book series Xanadu which is a fantasy setting populated by humanoid animals. The setting was interesting as the mythicals tended to treat the mundanes as second class citizens.

This is relevant to gaming as Xanadu was my second option for using as a setting for my first RPG book and I had talked with her about this and she was interested at the time. In the end I went with my first choice of Red Shetland and the rest is history. My first published book would have looked very differently in style and tone had the deal with GxP not gone through.
