This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Also, if you do/will enjoy a cooperative board game, my own suggestion'd be to get Pandemic and/or Space Alert sometime in the future.
Furthermore, I consider that  This is Why We Don\'t Like You thread should be closed

Quote from: Rincewind1;809947Ghost Stories is an excellent choice - much more tactical game than either EH or AH, and one that is very, very hard indeed. As Justin pointed out - see about getting a fanmade instruction, because it seems no matter the version, it is atrocious (Polish instruction wasn't well written at all neither).
I did the same with AH. For some reason I'm not very good at internalising game rules, but with the help of some fan-made flow diagram we managed to grog AH's rules pretty quickly.

Quote from: Rincewind1;809947It's very easy actually. Everyone has a move and an action, in which they either activate the board or attack the monster next to them. Add to that special abilities of heroes, locations and monsters, and that's it (at least in basic game - I never played with expansion, despite our gaming club having it). The main difficulty is a very poorly written manual.
That doesn't sound so complicated, though the tactical difficulty you mention makes me doubt if this game is for me. I'm a rather poor tactician when it comes to tabletop games, but somewhat better at it in co-op games.

Quote from: Rincewind1;809947They do a lot, yes - one or two supplements should be enough that it'd be quite hard to see many possibilities soon. One exception could be Arkham random encounters.
We own two card expansions (Dark Pharoah, King in Yellow) and one board expansion (Dunwich) and decided to not get any more, mainly because each expansion adds new rules bits to the game as well and like I said we'd prefer just more events cards, monsters, investigators, ancient ones etc.

Haffrung recommended a good website for such in another thread; I thought the Eldritch Horror information was good:

Quote from: Haffrung;801318Instructional design is not easy. It's a job for dedicated professionals, and most RPG authors simply don't have the skill set required to effectively summarize and present complex information. The guy who makes these awesome summaries, while a volunteer, is also a graphic designer by profession.

and it has stuff for Ghost Stories as well.

Thanks for the info about Eldritch Horror expansions.

If you are looking for a solid co-op game that plays in a hour, check out Pandemic - lots of high tension fun and high replay value. I have heard great things about the Space Hulk: Death Angels card game too. It's on my priority-to-demo list.
