This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

There are a couple of large format 8.5x11 readers coming next year.

I advise holding off, personally.  That size factor will make for much better RPG book reading.
Bedroom Wall Press - Games that make you feel like a kid again.

Arcana Rising - An Urban Fantasy Roleplaying Game, powered by Hulks and Horrors.
Hulks and Horrors - A Sci-Fi Roleplaying game of Exploration and Dungeon Adventure
Heaven\'s Shadow - A Roleplaying Game of Faith and Assassination

I agree completely with holding off; not only for the larger format, but for a more capable device as well:

I wouldn't buy a first gen device, but this would be far more useful to me than a uni-tasker like an eReader.

I still can't update the firmware. They want me to send it in to them. I'm going to try it on a friend's PC when I get a chance first. I really want to evaluate the new firmware.

Here's the latest. The updater software broke my eslick. I can't turn it on and the display is frozen on the update screen (e-ink displays don't change until re-drawn). I give up. I'm considering an iPad when released, even though it's more than twice the price. I KNOW that it will work.

I'm sending the stupid thing back and forcing them to give me a refund.

You don't want an iPad.  It's nothing more than two iPhones duct-taped together, but more limited.

Like I keep saying, there's more e-readers on the way, including some research into both color, and large format designs.  The existing products from B&N and Sony are also quite fantastic by all reports, and my hands on with a Sony was quite impressive.

Don't give up on eReaders yet, the eSlick is just a piece of shit, that's all.
