Title: Other Dust + Apocalypse World ?
Post by: silva on June 28, 2013, 02:14:06 PM
Could these two games be used in conjunction? Do they sinergize, or complement each other, well?

I havent read Other Dust yet but Ive heard it promotes sandbox gaming, just like AW. Does it means I could use one tools and ideas with the other and vice-versa ?

No clue. I'm only familiar with Other Dust.

Can you bolt AW features on to any other OSR-style, d20-based Rpg?

Yup, sure. Its tools are system-neutral. On the Other Dust side, Ive read it has lots of inspirational tables for various situations, right ?

And I just remembered that Barbarians of the Aftermath has a apocalypse generation phase, with lots of ideas to create your apoc (biological, atomic, alien, ecological, etc). It could be a good resource too.

Yep, there's a lot of great sandboxing advice, and plenty of tables to spark your imagination when it comes to setting up Enclaves, Ruins, styles of adventures, etc.
