This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

It's October!

Time for another painting thread.

What to post:

Your plans for the month.

Progress pics.

Finished pics.

Advice/suggestions for painting.

My plans:

So this month I'll be painting a couple of Heavy Weapon Squads for my IG. I'm currently staying in a hotel 100+ miles from my house so I'm assuming my progress will be limited this time around.

You?

In light of Bones II, I need to get to work ;)

On the docket:

* mage dragonborn
* bullywog
* giant frogs
* roper
D&D is not an "everyone gets a ribbon" game.  If you\'re stupid, your PC will die.  If you\'re an asshole, your PC will die (probably from the other PCs).  If you\'re unlucky, your PC may die.  Point?  PC\'s die.  Get over it and roll up a new one.

I've got 80 Skaven to paint this month, 30 giant rats, and I want to finish Cthulhu. Also got a lot of art to do too, so we'll see how much free time I get. Was a slacker last month.

Yay! Got my heavy weapon squad assembled and primed. In bigger news I grabbed a case for my army, battlefoam, I'll post pics tonight.

Very nice.

Right now I just have two foam carriers that I keep in my IoB box. Doomwheel taped to the bottom of the building I did surrounded by tissue. May have to make my own foam carrier for it. As my army size is effectively doubling this month, I'm going to need to get a carrier of some sort, but I'll be on s pretty tight budget with Halloween then Xmas coming up, so looking for a cheaper alternative to the very nice, very pricy ones like the above.

Blackhand

Sorry I've been out of the loop, been meaning to get in on these threads.  I think they're a great idea and we should keep it going.

I'll be back with some pics of some German Grenadiers for Flames of War.  That's really all I'm painting this month, other than Bones...well maybe I can scam a few pics of these Dark Eldar...

So...slight change of plans on which ones I painted.  Here is what I did so far.  The Brass dragonborn and roper are metal, while the others are Bones.  The skeleton is about 6 inches tall, for scale.

I apologize for photo quality.  I really need to get a decent camera

Love the roper :)

I FINALLY finished my Heavy Weapons Squad. Still struggling with job induced transient living, apartment won't be ready until Nov. 1 so I doubt I'll get another squad done before then.

Pics in a bit.

Finished Cthulhu. It's a shame I can't show you the amount of detail with these crappy pics. It was a month's work, and Im very proud of it.

Man I'm thinking about adding a couple sentinel walkers to my roster...

Mostly because they look cool but also because it spares me painting some infantry :p

Hope to have some pics to add to this thread later this week; I'm stripping my hella-old (and badly-painted by a much younger me) Squats to repaint and use as a gang in our upcoming Necromunda-based campaign.

Anybody ever use the color primer from Army Painter?  It looks hella sexy.

"Describing Erik Jensen\'s Wampus Country setting is difficult"  -- Grognardia

"Well worth reading."  -- Steve Winter

"...seriously nifty stuff..." -- Bruce Baugh

"[Erik is] the Carrot-Top of role-playing games." -- Jared Sorensen, who probably meant it as an insult, but screw that guy.

I haven't but lots of folk I know use and love it. Keep in mind that some of the shades are not exact but good enough for table work (the yellow in particular is off).
