This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Newbie with questions about the game, "Artifact Adventure"

Hey everyone!! I just started playing "Artifact Adventure", and I have a few initial questions, but if this website is not the best place to ask questions about this game, please let me know where I can post them. I know Artifact Adventure is a bit old, but I did a google search and this website came up on a brief list of places to look. And the other two on the list are reddit and Steam (tried both, got nothing).

First, is this game rather linear, or does it follow a certain path throughout?

Second, how much grinding would a player have to do to complete the game?

Third, the first character in my party (fighter) has gotten skills that he cannot use since he does not have any magic points, is there a way to trade those skills to another character who would be more suitable? If not, then those skills are wasted, and it seems I would need them. Should I just start the game over at this point?

How do I use artifacts in this game? Are they represented as "skills", or is there a different way to access them?

Is there an online walkthrough? (Just in case I get stuck and am at a loss for where to go. If I don't need it, I will not use it - using walkthroughs like a crutch ruins RPGs - personal opinion).

Lastly, when creating a new game, there are four slots for saving - four different playthrough games. When I was trying to make a party, I got about half way through it but had to back out, and now that slot is wasted. This happened twice. Is there a way to delete those two saved files and open them for a new game? I went looking for actual saved game files on my hard drive to manually delete them, but found none. I am running this game on Steam.com, btw.

Anyway, that's about it for now. I really hope someone can fill me in all of this, I am really eager to dive into this game!! Any and all help is appreciated!! Thanks so much!!
