This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

I played this once decades ago and forgot about it.  How cool.  Makes me want to run an OD&D campaign based on it.

My pleasure.  The artwork alone throws me back into that old school mood.  I think there's something in that late 70s/early 80s acid-inspired fantasy art that gets in your head and doesn't let go, even if you were clean!

If you haven't yet, I would recommend going back to the fan site (http://well-of-souls.com/tower/index.html) and also check out the images for the card game DragonMaster (http://well-of-souls.com/tower/dmaster.htm).  Same artist.  The operator of the site even has a short interview with the guy.  Very neat.

If you will excuse the minor derail, I've enjoyed playing another MB classic online.  Anyone remember the Dark Tower board game?  Unfortunately, it is only one player so I don't know that it is a great simulation of the game.  But for capturing the nostalgia and getting to see that amazing artwork again, you may enjoy checking it out:

This link takes you directly to the game load-up:

If you prefer to browse the fan site, read the rules and check out the artwork, here it is:

Hope you enjoy.

Oh man, played the HECK out of that game when it was around.

Played the emulator until 1:30 last night, finally winning with a miserable score of 28. Coulda swore my high score on the 'real' game was 97 (certainly high 90s), but memory do fade.

A nice education blog.
