Anyone else play the new DC fighting game?

Anyone else utterly nonplussed by the insane zoning?

Would like to, but I don't own a suitable consolebox.

A friend of mine bought Mortal Kombat 9, and while I was waiting at his house for a game to start, he asked if I want to have a go. So I beat the crap out of him for... about ten minutes or so (Bear in mind this is the first time I've picked up the game, and the first time I've played a fighter in years, although I used to be decent at DarkStalkers 3 and Guilty Gear). And then his girlfriend. And then the other players that turned up. My MK9 career lasted about 45 minutes, and I retired undefeated - not even a single round lost. They fell for pretty basic zoning techniques, every single time.

Apparently they traded it in the very next day.

The zoning in MK9 has nothing on this.

Nothing.

My god, the online fighting game community has to be the biggest bunch of self entitled cunts that ever lived. I think i'd rather be called a jew/nigger/paki (i've been called all these things and i'm neither)/fag/douche/homo on Call of Duty all day than deal with such a bunch of whiny arrogant motherfuckers. Jesus do these people think much of themselves; dare to profer an opinion about the game or dare to suck at it and you can expect nothing more than the purest scorn of the internets!

(PS I'm not proud of typing the above words, even in that context, I loathe racial slurs and feel deeply uncomfortable hearing or using those words).

More like, develop the ability to breathe bullshit.

The best online multiplayer games are arena FPS (And at that, DM/TDM, CTF or Assault gametypes), and even they stopped being good years ago (When maps stopped being designed with verticals in mind, because console controllers don't cope well with them). The last good ones were Q3, UT3 and TF2.

the main problem with fps games is latency.

CoD is the biggest gaming franchise since ever and yet it is so badly made that the online is unplayable. Drives me nuts - and i like the game!

LoL for people with higher delusions of grandeur and shorter fuses.

Q3A and UT99 both played fantastically well over modems. There's really no excuse for anything today to be worse than those.

Extraordinary; the decisions made by game developers that so easily spoil a game.

Scorpion, from Mortal Kombat, has now, inexplicably, been ported into Injustice, a game based solely (initially at least) on DC comics characters.

From hero to zero.

I swear to god that online multiplayer ruined gaming.
