This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Has anyone been playing Star Trek Online? I'm new around here and aside from loving to discuss boardgames/RPGs, I'd love to find some new people to play with.

A lot of people have been complaining about the game play, but I personally find it to be a lot of fun. Anyone else play it and enjoy it? :)

Welcome aboard!

Yep, I've been playing for probably 2-3 months, just about every day. I've got three characters that I rotate between, one Captain 2, a Commander 3 and Commander 2. Playing the way I do, end-game isn't a real issue, but I thought all the l33t kiddez screaming about reaching the level cap 4 days after release were funn, as usual.

I enjoy it, although it seems to fall into that MMO "same old same old" pattern faster than most. I love Space Combat and designing uniforms and aliens. Some of the Fleet Actions are insane (it took over 3 hours for a good-sized group to complete "The Big Dig" the other day, for example. I'm never ever doing a ground-based fleet action ever again. :)

I enjoyed it far more than I ever thought I'd enjoy a Star Trek game. Seriously. I just can't afford multiple MMO's, or I'd probably still be running around phasering people with my Alien Science officer, or my Ferengi Tactical Officer.
