This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

God of War III - Will it be enough?

I guess my ultra violence needs to be firmly satiated because honestly...I'm not sure III will do it for me. Then again it's PS3 and that's always a killer for me. (Money wise) Means I have to FIND someone with that system and hope it runs fine.

Course then I want a backwards compatible PS3 to run God of War, God of War II and of course III so I can get the most god killing I can out of my system.

Well, in terms of ridiculous violence MadWorld for the Wii is pretty good. I do not know if you have a Wii or not though.:(

How is the PS3 though? It is too expensive for me, and it does not have enough game I want to play.

Nightfall

Gal,

I have a Wii. I just don't use it any more since I can't get anyone to play Guitar Hero with me. Plus it's not really mine so much as my mom's...and she doesn't use it as much now that she stopped doing Wii Fit.

My major gripe with the PS3 isn't the games, it's, as you stated, the price. If it was as cheap as the original is now or even just the PS2, people would probably have it in their homes MORE than the Wii.

Ahh, I see. Well, MadWorld is a good game if you ever get the chance. It is only 30$ now.

As for the PS3, I do hear of(and I am sure you have heard of too) people buying it as a Blu-Ray player.

Nightfall

Gal,

I don't want Blu Ray anything. Mostly because while I like HD, (and I have a HD plasma [Again mom's.]), I'm not sure it's worth watching and/or paying that exorbitant amount of money.

I'll wait for it to drop to 15 dollars. I prefer my video games very cheap.

Gah, I misread your first post and I thought you already had one.:o

Nightfall

No. If I HAD one it would be backwards compatible. As it stands now...I'm more likely to get copies of Paizo stuff than buy a backwards compatible PS3.

I've been looking forward to GoW for a while now. I'd like to buy a PS3 when it comes out but I'm hard pressed to think of anything else I want to play on PS3.

So for me at least, the answer is: No. GoWIII will not be enough to get me to buy a PS3.

Yeah I feel the same way. If, as stated previously, the price on a PS3 dropped significantly, by at least 100% if not 150%, then maybe I'd consider the investment. Otherwise, it's just not enough, even with God of War III and all the cool features that the game will offer to go out, buy that and a PS3. This is especially true if one considers buying one so you can later on play the entire series on one machine.

Then again, just a four hours ago I hooked up a top drawer VCR to a 2.1 Hi-Fi Stereo and an 300 pound LDTV so we could watch some tapes with the kids. So who knows? In a few years I may necro some GoW3/PS3 goodness.

I think chances of that happening before I'm 85 are fairly unlikely.

Well i will probably suggest you to go for it because i have seen the trailer of this game and This wouldn't be that hard to believe when you consider the high quality of the graphics in each of the previous games. GOW games blow everything out of the water on both PS3 and PSP. I'm really looking forward to seeing this one in action.

Nightfall

Fine. You can front me 500 dollars and I'll pay the 300 and we'll work out a shipping plan so you can have access to it. *is being sarcastic*

I don't make anywhere NEAR 500 dollars and I barely save what I got...which is why I'm so poor.

I heard madworld had clunky controls, for grappling, is that true gal?

And is it actual good gameplay or just a violence gimmick?
