This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Wow, what a game! I've been playing a thief the whole time so far. Haven't even been following the main quest. There's SO much to do. I wouldn't have thought just sneaking around and stealing stuff could keep me so entertained for so long. :) One of these days I'll get back to the main story.

Note: you can "launder" stolen items you want to keep by selling them at the Thieves' Guild fence and then repurchasing them. That way when you (inevitably, invariably) get caught, you don't have to lose the loot you've been depending on for fighting and shit.
Next phase, new wave, dance craze, anyways, it's still rock and roll to me.

You can talk all you want about theory, craft, or whatever. But in the end, it's still just new ways of looking at people playing make-believe and having a good time with their friends. Intellectualize or analyze all you want, but we've been playing the same game since we were 2 years old. We just have shinier books, spend more money, and use bigger words now.

I haven't encountered any quests dealing with Skooma, are there any?  I've encountered the stuff a couple of times and unlike Morrowind I can sell it to any normal merchant I could sell potions to.  I've heard it mentioned once or twice in rumours and I am curious if it plays any role in Oblivion.  I remember using it once or twice in Morrowind to throw down physically with an opponent I was having trouble with since I couldn't sell it and it was not light.

It could be buried somewhere, there are quite a few small quests hidden around the place, but haven't heard about it yet, though the topic does come up in the rumours option, plus in Bravil the count's son is an addict, so there might be something there.

Apparently there's also a few vampire hunter quests (not the Bruma one), but that could just be board gossip.

Breakstone

I'm having a blast with my Redguard "Dungeoneer." I picked the skills Blade, Light Armor, Restoration, Mercantile, Speechcraft, Alchemy, and Athletics. He can run around, carry a lot of stuff, and fight well enough, then go back into town and sell all the stuff for way inflated prices.

I called him "Big Eddy."

Right now I'm concentrating on getting up there in the Fighter's Guild while closing Oblivion Gates. For the Oblivion Gates, I simply run through- I'm faster than any creatures in there, and with my Necklace of Waterwalking and my Healing Magic, I just run over the lava to get to where I need. I closed something like five gates today without swinging my sword once. :D

Ha!  That kicks ass, breakstone!!

I broke down and cured my mage's vampirism...  It was really getting too annoying.  Now, I'm doing all manner of miscellaneous quests and working on power-advancing my Alchemy skills.

I have a vampire hunter quest right now, taking place in the Imperial City. I don't know if there's more than one, I haven't really pursued it at the moment. I'm not quite sure why I got it even, maybe I have gotten enough reputation, because I was approached out of nowhere for help, and they were gushing about the "hero of Kwatch".

I had my Argonian generalist up to about 14th level and just got tired of how he was panning out.  So I started over with a Kahjit (a race I could never stand before) and made a custom class that is pretty similar to the Agent but with no magical skills as core skills.  I did use the Night Eyes mod and this character is fantastic.  Stealth around snipping creatures it's a hell of a lot of fun.  I'm only up to about 7th level with him now but the leveling pace I'm going at feels more appropriate.  My first character was more a power leveling character.

Wow, I'm stumped.  I know I was in the sideways cave, but I've never had a problem getting out of any.  You're checking your maps, right?

Went in there, found the area I think you are talking about and just walked.

There should be an exit to a ledge overlooking the water filled cave, you can just drop down from there.

Quote from: darkfireHave you found any spots and just thought 'wow, that is so kewl' or where you've found a great quest start or item? If you think you've found something like this share it in this thread

A few rules though
1) No specific details, if the dungeon has the 'uber+20megakiller' sword in it, let us find out for ourselves (we can always pm you for details)
2) Give at the very least a rough location or even better a name

From what I understand about the game the 'scaling' issue affects what loot you find and where.  (The more powerful you are the more powerful the stuff you find)  Plus it's randomly generated on top of that, so it's a bit of a one-two punch.  If someone finds an amazing weapon or item somewhere other people may never find it, regardless.

Quote from: kryystSo turns out my lizard mans 75 resist disease is a pretty damn good immunitiy against being casually turned into a vampire.  I'll have to see if this keeps up if I purposely try to become a vampire now that I've joined the Dark Brotherhood.

A vampiric lizard huh?  Interesting.  Does that mean your victims will have 18 fang marks on their necks?

I believe after the 13th fang you just leave a hole.
