This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

So, does anyone other than me have any interest in this?  I'm thinking of jumping back in and playing again for a bit.  So, if there's anyone out there who might be interested in playing twice a week (maybe Tuesdays and Fridays), then post in this thread.

MMM... talk to me after the first week of April (I see much online gaming in my future).

Took me only 10 hours of playing Lineage II to hate it.
Maybe it was because the server was kinda sucky, but it was a free server.
In which server do you play?

Gabriel

Devianne.

Incidentally, what did you play?

O'Borg

I was just about to post a new thread here asking peoples opinions on Lineage II.
From the player screenshots it certainly looks good.

What's the play like? All quests, killing monsters and PvP or do you get to spend time training, crafting and doing non-combat stuff too?

You only craft if you're a Dwarf.  It's pretty pointless until you get some key recipies (like Soulshot).

There are definitely quests, and they make the lower levels fairly fun (at least IMO).  But once you hit about level 20, the game starts focusing on grind.  You'll spend a lot of time out in the wilderness or in one of the Necropoli (special dungeons) whacking monsters.

There's PVP.  I didn't get involved in that.  As you can imagine, there are the typical griefers.  Some days you just can't go into the dungeons because some level 70 griefer will be in there murdering all the people trying to XP.

Edit: I hate to mention this, because I absolutely loathe GameStop and EB Games, but those stores have the Epic Collection on sale for $9.99.  I imagine it comes with 1 month membership like all MMORPGs do.

L2 has some pretty artwork. That's all I know about it. Is there anything that makes it different from other MMORPGS?

The highest in-game inflation rate of any MMORPG.  :p

Really, all MMORPGs are pretty homogenous.  I just liked the graphics and world more than the others I had played.
