This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Well, at least partially. I made several comments in the days gone by on Puerto Rico being a flawed game.
I just found out we were playing two things in a  wrong way. With the actual rules, it´s a much better game with so much mor replayability.

The game still suffers from the high dependance on all players being of about equally skilled in the game, though.

I'd rather a game be weighted towards skill than luck any day of the week though...  But I'm glad you gave the game another shot.  I think its a pretty good game.

The problem is, that Puerto Rico is about "not letting the others win". If you have players of different skill levels, you could lose w/o ANY fault on your own part. Pretty frustrating, especially if it doesn´t come up in the end, but you understand the repercussion in the actual game.
F-r-u-s-t-r-a-t-i-o-n!

The only alternative is puppetteering the inexperienced players, but that´s a no-no, no matter on what part of the equation I stand.
