This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

I don´t.

The last time I played EU2 in a meaningful way was one year ago. I´m still waiting for the weekend where I can delve into EiA.

RPGs are eating up my free time...

I'm not talking about a multiplayer game, but a "I report, You decide" game. Basically, the audience (that'd be you) gets to choose country, a goal, and a starting date. I play a bit, post a report, and let you choose major decisions (like wars of choice, national ideas, advisors, etc). An interactive actual play report, if you like, complete with screenshots.

Very well... :)

I have the basic game (v1.3), but I intend to upgrade to Napoleon's Ambition (v2.2) this night, if possible.

So, countries are you interested in? There are some very interesting minors in Europe (Mecklemburg, Brandenburg, Tuscany, Brittany), not to mention a lot of possibilities in the East. Of course, we can also pick a middle-sized country, or even a heavy hitter...

What.the.hell.is.that?

Ok, that crazy video decides it: Brandenburg it is. Say, how about achieving German reunification and becoming Holy Roman Emperor?

(I understand that you can also dismantle the Empire in Napoleon's Ambition)

I'm downloading NA as I post this. Once it's up and running, I will be posting some screenshots with Brandenburg's initial situation. I assume 1453 AD?

One Horse Town

So as not to get another EU thread going, i thought i'd post to this one.

I got going on my third attempt to get into EU1 today. I chose the grand campaign, as i always do when i give it a bash.

I chose Portugal.

Within 8 years, i was ranked No. 3, had a nice economy, some colonies and my people kept giving me money for running things so well.

Then i started taking the missions seriously...and that loused up my whole country within a few years. Who thought it was a good idea to annex Morrocco? They had an army of 40,000, so i sent in 50 led by a conquistador (bit of a waste, i guess, but never mind). In the battle window, i was doing them good and they had about 3k troops left and i had about 27k. Then all of a sudden, their troop numbers went back up to 40k again and i got a right royal kicking. ??

They tromped Tangiers, i lost loads of trade, my whole army (which i took out a loan to replace - big mistake) and my stability. It was a downward spiral from there, so that when protastanism started, i had little choice but to convert for the cash injection, so i could pay off my loans. I quoshed some rebellions in the provinces, then got home to find 70k rebels in my home cities!

Luckily i saved the game just before declaring war on Morrocco, so i'll take the hit to my victory points for not achieving it rather than fuck up my whole country. Seems like lots of the missions can result in fucking things up.

Not sure if i'll return to it, because i basically lost 6 hours of my life for advancing the game 10 years out of 300. We'll see if i feel the urge again...
