I suspect the Aldmeri Dominion is going to seriously dominate in this game. TWO races of cute elves AND cat girls! Holy heck, the other groups are doomed!
One bunch of racist supremacists, another bunch of treehugging, pointy-eared cannibals, topped off with a ragtag band of stoned cats.. Yeah, that's gonna work out just fine:p
Is anyone excited about TESO? Personally I have a nagging suspicion it's going to drive in the final nail in the coffin for me.
I'm not expecting much. Knowing MMO players the way I do, though, Aldmeri is just going to be huge on every server compared to the other 2 factions.
I still have Skyrim and the dozens of mods I use. It's still a great game.

Can't say its generating excitement among anyone I know.
It just seems to be a thin veneer of Elder Scrolls over a remake of DAoC which I really don't really see there being much demand for. With such an over-saturated MMORPG market, I think it would really need to do something radically new to make any impact.

It may surprise people. They have released quite a few tidbits about the game, and there are beta reviews. It has Skyrim style skills and crafting, and you can make a sorceror that wears plate mail and wields a greatsword.
From what I have seen, the designers are specifically making the game 'skyrim like'
The '3 realm rvr Daoc style' is to get more players.
fyi, we can judge the demand for daoc2 by the kickstarter about to go live for camelot unchained; the actual daoc2 in the works.
I am curious how that will go.
All I care about ESO is that it doesn't detract from my precious, precious single-player only Elder Scrolls games.

Behesda farmed ESO out to another company, so I assume the next single player elder scrolls game is being made as we speak.
If you are talking about ZeniMax they actually own Bethesda and were also founded by Bethesda's founder, so it's not accurate to say that Bethesda farmed it out. As far as I can tell it's still an in-house product.

Doesn't really matter to me. I like single player rpgs and mmorpgs. More games for me.

Skyrim is going to be DLC'ed for years to come:

...but yeah, they're definitely thinking ahead to 6.

sweet!
My only real complaint with skrim is lack of a task bar or hotkeys that do not require pausing the game. otherwise, skyrim rocks!

there's probably a mod!
And yes, Skyrim is lovely.
I quite hope it'll be both a success and something quite far away from the "theme park" that is WoW. I mean hells, that format dominates current breed of MMORPGs that even SWOTR is basically WoW in Star Wars With Cutscenes.
While I never liked TES very much, save for Morrowind, a success of ESO could mean that Bethesda'd throw their lot with Fallout Online (after Interplay or whoever's got the rights yet finally gives up pretending they're developing it, for which they have 2 years according to Fallout Wiki).
Necroing the thread to ask if anyone's gotten in on the beta. I've signed up, my SO has, and so have several of our friends, but I've yet to hear of anyone getting in.
I'll be joining on April 4th when the ESO will be made available to the general public (At least the general public with PC's or MACs). Xbox and PS4 fans are going to have to wait at least another 60 days!
I'm planning on being 70th level with a castle and a guild by the time the console players join in...
...and, I won't be playing no elf, tho I'll have to be accepting them as well as the the kittykats into the guild. (It's the only way to keep my daughter on my side, otherwise she'll defect to them cat fanciers...
I'm pretty curious about this one. Having spent a lot of years on some sort of MMO or MMO-like game since the early 2000s I think my days of 'playing multiplayer online games more hardcore' are behind me(I left WoW about a year ago), but I'm a little curious about how this goes. I like some of the ideas, but I'm a little bit skeptical on if it'll come together how I picture it. Then again I tend to be a little skeptical about new MMOs in general; I don't think they'll never necessarily be bad, but so many of them have had the shiny wear off after a month or three.

I got into one of the beta weekends a few weeks ago, maybe a month? I am bad with remembering dates.
So it is possible to get in.
I only got one single email invite to one weekend beta test; have not gotten anything since.
I've played most of the Elder Scrolls single-player games and also messed around with their toolkit, and I'm really curious to see what pieces of their technology make it into the MMO. I'm guessing they'll need to scale back some on the pretty visuals, but I could be wrong about that.
