Dwarven Forge has come up with a new material to create its 3D dungeon terrain sets. The hope with the kickstarter is to raise money to pay for the equipment and machinery to produce these sets, and thereby drive down the price of their products, making them more affordable for those who want to use them.

The kickstarter actually funded in a few hours after it was launched. God only knows how high its going to get by the time its over, and the stretch goals that are going to be fulfilled by then.

And again I say it: we gamers are living The Golden Age. The doom and gloom prophecies are wrong, irrelevant and false.
funny I don't like dungeon games, I don't do enough prep to make these things useful and i don't liek tactical minis games where this level of detail is important... and yet they do look fine and I although it might reduce an RPG to a baordgame it would be a fine looking boardgame....
I love seeing anything RPG related in kickstarter going to multiples of its goal. Love it.
Damn shame (for me) that there is a $200 international postage charge (for the pledge I am after) :/
Last 34-odd hours of the Dwarven Forge kickstarter. Lots of free goodies for those who pledge for two sets or more, and there are quite a few add-ons as well. Last chance. Just to let you guys know.

Castle Walls pack with windows and murder holes, and Grand stairs pack are now available. Free-standing walls are next with the $1,650,000 stretch goal. Last 26 hours to commit, guys.

DF's stuff always looks amazing, I don't have anyone to split an order of two sets with, and with my group using laptops and a vtt I can't really justify the cost.
You know what they say: different folks, different strokes. Don't feel bad, man. Let's just be happy that Dwarven Forge made it so far. :)
I was in for the two sets plus some diagonal walls add-ons, but looking at the Castle Walls man, I always wanted those murder holes pieces...

Oh I totally agree, and it's awesome that they are able to bring the prices down with this new material... I'm just sad that (no matter how hard I try) :p I can't make myself believe that it's worth my spending the money no matter how awesome the deal is, otherwise I'd be in for two in a heartbeat. I've gamed with mini's twice in the past 3 years, so deluding myself is harder then it would otherwise be. :)
Well, I broke down and got the 5 set package...with two PF campaigns and rumblings for a 4e nostalgia campaign (unbelievable), I figure I'll get some use out of them.
