From Rackham (http://www.confrontation.fr). As promised, some shots of the miniatures I painted. Forgive the relatively bad lighting. Weather isn't great today.

That last one (which has seen so much actual play that I need to repair the paint in some places) was used by my wife as her character, Beket Per Aau-Nu, a Kemite monk worshipping the Old Man, in my Ptolus campaign. Here's the first level writeup:
Beket Per Aau-Nu, female human monk worshipping the Old Man, acolyte of the Watcher of the Skies. She knows Helmut Itlestein for being a regular at the Observatory of the Watcher of the Skies in the Temple District. She originally comes from Kem, and has some Celestial Ancestry.
Monk level 1.
Feats: Celestial Ancestry, Lightning Reflexes, Iron Will, Improved Unarmed Strike.
You can learn more about this campaign on its dedicated blog: The Praemal Tales (http://praemal.blogspot.com).
Really nice minis!
But why no basing at all, it would lend even some more class to it?!?
I love Confrontation minis. I have a pile of about 30 of the old Wolfen I've been meaning to make a little skirmish force out of.

At the time I had to paint those really fast to be able to use them in my Ptolus game. So I opted for a plain black base. When I get around to repair the wear on some of my miniatures, I'm probably going to add a decent base to them as well. :)

I got a few Wolfen I still haven't painted. These suckers are huge, and awesome. :D
I too love Confrontation miniatures. I have a stack I have been meaning to paint, just been too busy of late sadly. That will change soon hopefully.
Confrontation is based in the world of Cadwallon?
What scale are the Rackham minis?

Yes. It's the same world: Aarklash (Wikipedia entry). (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aarklash) :)

Standard 28-30mm scale. Like D&D minis.

I'm not sure what scale they were advertised at, nor am I sure if they have changed their scale with their more recent plastic minis. I have half a dozen female barbarian swordswomen from the late 90s or early 2000s that stand several millimeters over a GW space marine. I think they scale out pretty close to 35mm.
Those mini's look pretty sweet. Anybody know if they are available through any online shop on the US side of the big pond? Just looking at those makes me want to blow the dust off of my paint brushes again.

Hi there dekaranger. Welcome to the RPG Site. :)
See there:

There too, though these seem to be mostly the plastic, pre-painted, new ones (Rackham switched to pre-painted minis not so long ago):

You could always make Google searches with "Confrontation miniatures", "stores", "cart", "US" and keywords of the type. I'm sure you can find a store that fits your needs.
:)
I'm pretty sure FRPGames carries Confrontations miniatures.
Try em: http://www.frpgames.com/
AH. JACKPOT, it seems. See THERE on Paizo.com. (http://paizo.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/Store.woa/wa/search?q=Confrontation&includeUnrated=true&what=products&f=brand%2FConfrontation&includeUnavailable=true)

Nod. They do (http://www.frpgames.com/cart.php?m=product_list&c=436). They do. (http://www.frpgames.com/cart.php?m=product_list&c=2526) And... They do. (http://www.frpgames.com/cart.php?m=product_list&c=1605)
:)
I keep checking and these are mostly PRE-painted, ALREADY assembled miniatures.
Careful before one buys, one way or the other! :)
Thanks for the replies and links folks. Much appreciated.
Do they make any SF miniatures? If so are there any pix of same?

Yes. AT-43. See there. (http://games.rackham-e.com/en/at-43)
You can have a look at the store from there, and see pics of all the minis.

Okay AT-43 looks even better. Especially some of the vehicles. Those may have to go the shopping list for the next time I run Sla.
ALL the AT-43 stuff is pre-painted softer plastic... not as soft as D&D minis but not as hard as GW plastics. I've seen a few arrive broken or warped.
I've got a big pile of metal Confrontation minis crying out for attention but I need to get some better paint that's worthy of them first.
I've never bought or even seen any of the pre-painted Confrontation miniatures myself.
I must admit I'm very curious about them, quality-wise, I mean.
On the ones I've seen the sculpting detail is much less... lyrical... than it was on the metals... everything seems thicker/rounder. None of those fine little filigree touches.
The painting is, well, if you really hate painting I guess you'd say it's good enough, but if you like painting and have any practice at it then they're not very good... 'gumpity' is the word-sound that comes to mind... though I've seen people do great paint jobs on the plastics using the original layer as a base-coat (you can't strip the factory paint off of them... it's bonded to them).
From what I've seen they're not nearly as durable as the D&D minis... the plastic is a bendable but weak... it kinda reminded me of cold, stiff wax.

So good enough for mooks, but not necessarily indicated for a recurring NPC or the like.

I suppose... I'd want them for mooks if they were a good bit cheaper... but for something like the Dirz it's hard to find that look with other minis.
I was/am a fan of the setting for Confrontation... it's had all the standard fantasy elements but, like WFRP, it managed to create a unique flavor... though in the opposite direction than WFRP's 'gritty' fantasy. Aarklash has a very magical feel to it... much more 'high fantasy'.
Not having a definitive sourcebook just adds to the mystique of the place... I've had to hunt down tidbits all over the place across various incarnations of the different games like Hybrid and Rag narok and entries in Cry Havoc and the catalogues. This makes if feel more alive to me, somehow... like I'm just catching glimpses of something in motion... but still very dream like.
The big Cadwallon book is in the mail so hopefully that will fill in some more details. I could see using WFRP to play in the setting... but as it is our C3 games have felt pretty RPGish anyway.
A mostly agree regarding the quality of the infantry figs for AT-43; however I really don't find them to be worse quality plastic than what comes out of DnD minis. The vehicles on the other hand are fairly robustly made and don't suffer from the same weakness as the infantry. I have one firetoad I have yet to do anything with and repainted two wraith golgoth to serve as support for a platoon size group of Urban Mammoth Syntha. I quite like them.
No, I think the Rackham plastics are better than the D&D plastics, for detail and sculpting and paint jobs.... and they're not quite as bendy... I've seldom seen a D&D mini with a straight sword. The Rackham plastics are more costly though... unless you're comparing them to some 'rare' collectible D&D mini... but I thought WOTC stopped that 'collectible' nonsense?
Are the AT-43 vehicles/mechs in a harder (styrene?) plastic? They look to be less rubbery but I've never had a chance to poke at one.
Quote from: Simlasa;385998I thought WOTC stopped that 'collectible' nonsense?
Well, yes... but not exactly (http://www.therpgsite.com/showthread.php?t=17445).
Confrontation minis loom really good. You did a great job. I had debating getting into it as well as War Machine, but I already do all the Warhammers which is expensive enough.
