This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

I built a miniature trebuchet from a kit I purchased in Castelnaud, in Perigord (France). Here are some pics of the completed beast with minis for scale:

The best part is? The thing actually fires for real!

Form the group wisely, make sure you share goals and means.
Set norms of table etiquette early on.
Encourage attentive participation and speed of play so the game will stay vibrant!
Allow that the group, milieu and system will from an organic symbiosis.
Most importantly, have fun exploring the possibilities!

Running: AD&D 2nd. ed.

Any minis caught slacking can be threatened with becoming ammo.

I was thinking of setting up some threat to a location in the Underworld like this. Like a Tower attacked from the Ethereal plane, where Trebuchets are being used to hurl ghost missiles from beyond. The PCs would have to travel beyond the Veil, locate the Trebuchets, and dismantle/disable them one by one.

Like the Iron d20 I got from the IH Tool box, you mean? :D

God. You could actually kill someone with that thing.

Hmm, might help when one of your players isn't paying attention. :D
"In a way, the Lands of Dream are far more brutal than the worlds of most mainstream games. All of the games set there have a bittersweetness that I find much harder to take than the ridiculous adolescent posturing of so-called \'grittily realistic\' games. So maybe one reason I like them as a setting is because they are far more like the real world: colourful, crazy, full of strange creatures and people, eternal and yet changing, deeply beautiful and sometimes profoundly bitter."

Age of Fable

Wow!

Does anyone know of any smaller models that actually fire (for example of cannons), that you could use for Little Wars?

It might be a cute novelty to have dice as ammo, so firing and rolling is the same action.

BTW I replied in all caps but the board censored it apparently. So it should have been "BRILLIANT!!!"
