This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

The Butcher

Isometric, turn-based, non-scaleable fantasy RPG. Linky.

Has a co-op mode to boot, huge boom for me since I get to play with Mrs. The Butcher.

It's been getting good reviews (4.4 on Metacritic) and a couple of friends have been playing and enjoying it.

The only reason I haven't picked it up is that I have more than enough on my plate right now (Skyrim, GW2, BL2). But I'd love to hear if anyone here is playing it, and what's it like.

It's pretty interesting, so far, but I take issue with the early Orc quest (I wanted to call them out on being rapists, rather than leaping straight to justified stabbytimes).

I don't like the "play two characters" aspect as much as I thought I would, because the bickering ended up feeling like I was arguing with myself; still, I think that's been patched, and you can give your buddy conversation AI now? I wound up playing my adventurers as me and my partner, which of course meant be being a jerk and also "losing" most conversations.

I really need to go back to it.
one two FUCK YOU

It runs surprisingly terrible on my computer, which is why I haven't gotten into it.

Doom

I'm having fun with it, but I have to admit the fights are a little tough. I guess I'm too used to "hold your hand" RPGs like Skyrim.

The combat controls are still a little clunky for my taste...it's ridiculously easy to set fire to yourself while trying a ranged attack. Hopefully I'll get a little better at avoiding that, but after the 4th reload, I just set the skill level to easy. The key for most fights seems to figure out what bombs are convenient to set off.

A nice education blog.

Looks like the good old times I had with baldur's gate and icewind dale. I played those games coop with a few friends of mine. Worked really well. I will certainly play this game, when it's cheaper. I never buy games anymore who are more than 10 bucks.
May I say that? Yes, I may say that!
