Aha! I can't wait to peak inside this one. As a portable game, I might transport it over to Coyote Trail and try my hand at some western horror. Either that, or use it instead of CoC. Could it be a substitute for CoC?

Excellent. I like CoC, but the system is getting old. Ghost Stories is more versatile, which is a definite plus.

Yeah, it's definitely got a CoC vibe going for it, especially with the investigative mechanics so clearly laid out.

Mean Streets has the same investigation mechanics sans paranormal stuff, and there are notes for using Ghostories with Mean Streets for Film Noir Horror, sort of like noir Cthulhu -- Cast a Deadly Spell and the like.
