Malicious code was found on the site, which has been removed, but would have been able to access files and the database, revealing email addresses, posts, and encoded passwords (which would need to be decoded). And as is good practice, remember to never use the same password on more than one site. While performing housekeeping, we also decided to upgrade the forums.
This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Suicide Death Ride to VengerCon

Secrets of Blackmoor

Hey everyone,

Venger sent me a nice message asking if I could attend VengerCon this year. Sadly, I spent all the play money going to GaryCon.

Someone suggested passing around the hat to see if people could help fund my journey. Yet, there is a catch. I do not like to ask for something for nothing because I'm not a bum.

Yesterday I took a bunch of music I had made as sound scapes for my own RPG group and posted them on BandCamp as a 5 dollar download.

About the Sound Scapes:

I recorded the tracks a few years ago and put a lot into making them. When they were done I felt they needed some professional polish and sent them to a friend who shall remained un named, yet he is a total pro and was an essential person who engineered audio for the Witcher seasons 1 and 2.

The tracks were all professionally mastered.

Thus, you can be assured it is not cheap shoddy work.

Genre-wise, it's not quite Dungeon Synth and not quite Dark Ambient. I call it Dungeon Fuzz because of the excessive use of distortion and fuzz pedals.

You can listen to them here and decide for yourself, yet, be warned this is not supposed to be easy listening. It is designed to make listeners feel uneasy.

What do you get out of this?

For starters, everyone who chips in gets some disturbing game music.

If I can raise enough to go, I will provide something new at VengerCon in the form of Vintage War Games and free Movie Screenings.

Here is what I would bring:

1. A movie screening, or even two if the first fills up, of Secrets of Blackmoor - free to all attendees.

2. The original rules for D&D aerial combat over the town of Blackmoor with Dave Arneson's Battle in the Skies rules.

3. A session of Fletcher Pratt's Naval War game with 1/1200 lead battle ship miniatures. This was a huge hit at GaryCon. I believe I had 12 players who were busy for 4 hours blasting each other with the big guns.

4. A session of The lost Dungeons of Tonisborg. No one has ever complained that they died, despite so many TPKs.

5. If that is not enough, I might even run a long session of American Civil War minis. It's a fascinating period for miniature battles. I run it with old rules from Heritage miniatures along with home rules learned at David Wesely's game sessions. I need to dust off the play set I put together for this anyway.

I will leave it to you to decide if I am worthy of attending VengerCon.

Thanks, Griff

Thus far this track seems to be the most popular:

Thanks to those of you who have pitched in.

Venger messaged to let me know someone has donated their convention ticket to me.

That is very nice of them.

As per my Cha'alt webcomic Kickstarter, the Cha'alt PDF on DriveThru is currently free.  However, those who chip-in to help Griff go to VENGER CON will also receive either Cha'alt: Fuchsia Malaise, Encounter Critical III, or Advanced Game Mastering like a Fucking Boss (pick one, unless you donate $50 or more to his traveling expenses - then you get the trifecta) as a free gift.  You just have to email me your DriveThruRPG email address.

Contact me here: Venger.Satanis@yahoo.com

Post-con, there will be pictures, session report blog posts, and probably some kind of back and forth discussion between the two of us.  This is for a good cause, so thank you for supporting us!

Things are already going pretty well.

Fingers crossed to come hang out and do some gaming.

Secrets of Blackmoor

Just want to thank everyone who has donated to the VengerCon trip thus far

I am up to 200 dollars!

I am getting close to having the funding pay for half.

If I do not get the entire amount I can fund the other half myself, yet, every little bit helps.

Alternatively, anyone who purchases the hardcover Cha'alt trilogy will force my tentacle into donating $20 (per trilogy) to Griff's VENGER CON fund.

Also, we're making Griff Morgan the Guest of Honor this year!
