Title: Ghostories (Ghost Stories 2) RPG now available.
Post by: brettmb2 on January 28, 2008, 03:40:50 PM
Ghostories, the Roleplaying Game of the Supernatural, includes everything you need for edge-of-your seat and paranormal mysteries. Choose from one of three approaches: the supernatural as myth, the fantastic, or reality. Characters are created by choosing their pursuits in life, and those who have been tainted by the supernatural gain secret knowledges for their chosen pursuit. Explore such pursuits as empathy (Second Sight), faith (Divine Arts), magic (Sorcery), occult (Unholy Arts), science (Binding Lore), or vigilantism (Heritages of the Egis). Tangle with a variety of ghosts, embodied spirits, phantoms, and banes -- or mortal threats, such as rogue sorcerers, diabolists, mad scientists, and endowed cults.

Four scenarios are provided to get you started, as are numerous story ideas, sample horrors, and special rules for discovering clues and handling fear and dementia. Embrace Ghostories and weave tales of mystery and dread, where horrific spirits walk among the mortal world, haunting a moonlit landscape of ominous portents. Ghostories is compatible with other genreDiversion i games, such as Coyote Trail (for Wild West Horror) and Mean Streets (for Film Noir Horror), as well as Active Exploits Diceless Roleplaying. Characters can also be converted from the Unbidden(TM) RPG.

Ghostories is available as a low-cost PDF or can be made into a softcover on-demand at checkout, using our PDFinPrint(SM) service. Aha! I can't wait to peak inside this one. As a portable game, I might transport it over to Coyote Trail and try my hand at some western horror. Either that, or use it instead of CoC. Could it be a substitute for CoC?

A substitute for CoC? Easily.

Excellent. I like CoC, but the system is getting old. Ghost Stories is more versatile, which is a definite plus.

Yeah, it's definitely got a CoC vibe going for it, especially with the investigative mechanics so clearly laid out.

Mean Streets has the same investigation mechanics sans paranormal stuff, and there are notes for using Ghostories with Mean Streets for Film Noir Horror, sort of like noir Cthulhu -- Cast a Deadly Spell and the like.
