I'll start, let's say a limit of 3 songs for one post.
I most often get my inspiration for campaigns, stories, quests and characters from various music genres and songs.
Recently I've been listening to these 3 (hiding behind spoilers to make loading easier)

In the last week or so.
Edit: albums, not songs
Took me a couple of years to track down that Manassas album.
Bob Dylan and the Hawks, 1966 Live at Royal Albert (actually Manachester) Hall.

Miracle of Sound (https://miracleofsound.bandcamp.com) mix-CD has been on shuffle play on my car audio for a year or so ;-)
Been listening to a bunch of stuff, but my playlist has been playing the Rosary Sonatas by Biber most. Also been listening to the Doors a lot lately.
I blame you guys for the first one.

I love electric violins

How about a classical one?

Lately I've mostly been being inspired by my gaming to write songs.
Eh, I'll break with the stuff you guys been posting. Aside from my mainstay of Postmodern Jukebox on the Youtubes the only thing I've been listening to lately is In This Moment's album Black Widow.
Mostly because I sort of misplaced my Ipod for a few weeks and I was doing some driving and that's what's in the CD player... but then again, of the four CDs available on the road, that's the only one i like enough to listen to on repeat, so there.

Oh I do love the classical one, my love for classic music is what made me also begin to fall in love with 'related' genres and instruments, it is how I also began to enjoy movie and video game music. The only big change is for me that I noticed I like quicker tempo now than I did as a kid, also remix and cover versions which I kinda opposed many years ago. Still, today I would say I like the electric violin a bit more than the classical one.
as you used Skyrim:

Goldie's The Journey Man.
Haven't heard that name in a long time! I may pull out my old Goldie records and give them a listen too.
Been listening to Ill Tramanto (The Sunset) by Respighi, the text is from a very Romantic Shelley poem. Saw it performed live this year and it was terrific, not sure any of the recordings capture how good it was live.

Goes well with Boot Hill although it's a little anachronous.
This goes well too:

Sabaton: The Last Stand. Currently on CD player is "Until Your Last Dying Breath" about the doomed Serbian defence against German invasion in 1914.
I particularly like Shiroyama about the end of the Samurai, and The Last Battle about the final battle of WW2 on 5th May 1945, when German Wehrmacht & US Army joined together with high level French political prisoners to successfully defend Itter against an SS battalion, who had been ordered to seize the castle and likely execute the French, several of whom became leaders of post-WW2 France.

Googling this morning I noticed that the SS at Castle Itter (apart from the one SS guy defending the castle!) charged with exterminating the French political prisoners were the Götz von Berlichingen (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/17th_SS_Panzergrenadier_Division_G%C3%B6tz_von_Berlichingen) - the same tough bastards who feature in the TV series
Band of Brothers and the 2005 videogame
Brothers in Arms.
Lots of Puddles Pity Party for me.
Of late:
As well as:
