Ok, I found it starting around 36 minutes, but it heats up around 41. Highly amusing with great use of the word douchebag. I even agree with it mostly.

It was pretty boring.

Next week I'm trying to arrange to have Levi on to discuss his thoughts on the matter.  As it stands, therpgsite wasn't a planned topic of this podcast and I didn't even think in advance to give him a call.

More importantly, any comments on the podcast?  Does anyone really disagree with what I said about the site or Pundit?  Some of it was harsh, but it was also fair, and it wasn't all negative (although there was the liberal sprinkling of douchebag).

You know, I really don't get the point in this sort of podcast... I mean, dudes, message for you: If no one is listening to your podcast, then its not a real "podcast", its just you talking to yourselves.

I don't know what constitutes a "real podcast" to you, Pundit, and I don't have any interest in having one.  We get a hundred unique listeners every week.  That's good enough for me.  If Mike and I sat in a room every week with a hundred people in the audience listening to us... shit, that makes me happy.

At any rate to be fair to the AnimalBall brothers they are ranked number one (http://www.podcastalley.com/podcast_details.php?pod_id=48314) in the Games&Hobbies podcasts, and have been for three plus months now.

That's not too shabby of a thing. And the added bonus is more people hear about your site, which I should think is a no lose situation for a cat like you.

I'd have to actually listen to your podcast to be able to comment on its specifics, and I haven't.  Don't take it personally, I never listen to podcasts, I hate the fucking things, as they're almost always a narcissistic cavalcade of mediocrity on the part of the presenters, like a radio talk show but more mediocre and lasting about 45 minutes too long.  Who the fuck has time for that shit?!  

Anyways, I did have time to click over to the Animalball forums for the first time in a long while, and I lo and behold, what did I see? A new thread talking about this being "Board Wars II" in your "podcasts" section.  So I'm just going to take this as one of your neverending attempts to stir up controversy for its own sake, and probably in a desperate effort to parasitically suck in a few new posters from a more successful RPG board than your own.

About the podcast, I was in a rush so I tried to skip to the part regarding theRPGsite. I caught the bit about pronunciation in the hobby, that was pretty funny.

We're not in competition, Pundit.  You've got more people on your site.  You've got way more activity on your site.  You also talk about a bunch of shit I have no interest in.  I don't want your site, Pundit.  We've had this very discussion before, and I've stated numerous times that I don't want a site as large as therpgsite because then I'd encounter all the problems you do-- and I don't want that.

And I agree with you completely, but...

Our problem was that clearly our brilliance and insight was too much to be contained by a mere message board. We needed some new outlet through which to unleash our wisdom on the gaming world. At first, we had considered getting a blog, but that seemed too masturbatory... even for us. So the podcast really was just the least nerdy option out of a whole host of nerdy possibilities.

As it turns out, it doesn't bother us that we have no listeners. We make our recordings and then giggle to each other on the phone as we listen to the playback. Who could ask for anything more?

I asked for more once. Then they took my RPGSite from me. Bastards.

RPGPundit went to the trouble of taking down his entire site for four days just to avoid answering Brasky's questions. Seems kind of drastic to me.

A brief history of the thread so far...

Paul, an avid listener of the Animalcast discovered that the Animalball crew (my brother and I) commented on RPGPundit and The RPG Site in our latest podcast. Specifically, my brother calls Pundit a douche for his "I allow you to exist comments" and we both agree that if maintaining the site is so hard and no fun, then he should really stop doing it. Why should he offer his free services to support something he doesn't enjoy anymore?

Paul used this to try to stir up a "board war" by starting this thread as well as one on our own forums entitled "Board Wars Round 2."

Pundit finally responded with several attempts to divert the conversation and not answer the direct points made in the podcast (I don't blame him). When that failed, he took the whole RPG Site down in order to avoid the question.

Now that the site is back up, we finally get to the meat of the matter: My stuffed Dr. Zaius avatar kicks ass.

And that's something we can all agree on.
