Youtube keeps recommending NPC and normie trrpg content to me, so I felt like making a thread to discuss them. Trust me, these people can get real nasty towards each other.
The Character Sheet at Comicbook.com is relatively drama-free but tends to skim over a lot of information.
If it took you this long to come up with the most classic JRPG plot, you are either a newbie or lack imagination.
For a lot of the advice channels, I appreciate the sentiment but I feel like a lot of it comes from people who themselves are pretty new. I mean a lot of RPG advice videos I see give a lot of generalized information that you could just gain from playing the game and accruing actual experience.
Like if I'm going to look for advice, it's gonna be from guys that have been playing for 10+ years who have played a lot and tried a lot of different ideas, and have sifted the good from the bad. Not from someone who's got the same amount of experience.

The only guy I really follow for rpg content is Esper the Bard. He's been working on a dnd supplement called Monsterous Heroes that allows you to play monsters as classes, like dragons, werewolves, vampires, minotaurs, and more! Now that is something that really changes the whole game!
Imagine if Critical Role switched to streaming on Kick! My favorite lolcow also streams there!
I'm betting that almost none of you even know about DC20 or have read the system. I haven't, I don't have the money to spend on the pdf.
Putting this here because the comments sections favorably compares this to Ginny Di and Matthew Collive.

It was inevitable...
At the root of just about every major problem, you will find a smug, entitled, white woman...

I follow the burning dumpster that is China these days, and I think there's a bunch of smug, entitled Chinese men behind the massive problem of adulterated food.

I tried to watch this, because I understand the appeal of Studio Ghibli, but as soon as the chode started talking about his ADHD and his ass burgers, I'm done.

If that pissed you off, there's more where that came from!

Disinterest is more accurate than anger. It lets me know the vlogger is a useless poon with nothing to say.

Exactly! I don't have ass-burgers, nor do I have ADHD, so what relevance does that have to me? If you are making a statement about the (near) universal appeal of something, or the objective qualities of certain things, starting it up your own ass isn't the most effective way to do so. Tell me something I don't know about RPGs, not you...

That's even worse than being pissed off, at least on the internet. Nobody clicks on something due to disinterest!

The guy is friends with Professor Dungeon Master (I know because he just published a video about it), who seemed to like it, got my hands on a PDF of the beta0.6 Arrr, Arrr matey, but haven't read it yet.

As someone WITH diagnosed Ass Burgers and a little ADHD I couldn't care less what some self-diagnosed asshole millenial has to say about anything, plus how is that in anyway relevant to the topic at hand?
Answer, it isn't.

The pdf is now Alpha 0.7. I've read some of it and DC20 certainly looks better than D&D 5e, which isn't saying much. Don't know if the cover art will still be the same when the game launches because it doesn't include a single "person of color." At least the people on the cover interact with the dragon and don't just look off into the distance while they are about to be gobbled up by a giant beholder, as is the case with WotC's new monster manual. The DC20 Kickstarter is going well and has now collected more than $500,000.

Well to be fair a lot of newbies poured into the Hobby with 5E and Stranger Things and all that. They also probably don't have the patience for the trial and error methods of the past. Instant gratification is in these days. They probably need very basic guidance.
