Yes, you need to subscribe to CBS All Access.  It's $6 per month with ads, or $10 per month without.

Meh. After AbramsTrek, I'm Trekked out. I'll let everyone else watch it for me, and jump on the wagon if it sounds decent.

I saw the long trailers and thought it looked like another attempt to turn Star Trek into action and explosions rather than exploration. Looked glossy like the new movies. I saw the first new movie and didn't care for the route they took. I don't know which universe this new show is set in but it looks like they made the same mistake as they did with Enterprise and set this in the past rather than moving forward with the Star Trek universe. There's no suspense there. We know what happens after they meet the Klingons. Eh, looked dumb to me. Not going to pay $ to find out. This should've been on CBS or something.

Unfortunately, after watching the premiere, the lead reminds me of Janeway.

SF Debris' Janeway.

Don't be a dick.

That's the pundits mouth you're talking with.

This isn't all wizbang and explosions at all. Certainly not so far.

What an asshole you are everywhere you post. Can't stand it when anyone disagrees with you? The new Star Trek looks like shit, sorry. I would have hoped for a good one as I actually like Star Trek when it is done well.

You're welcome to disagree, you just haven't actually watched the show in order to do so.

Tried to watch it. Fell asleep during the episode. That tells me that it isn't worth the CBS streaming service fee. I'll pass.

Star Trek was killed off by Voyager, let it remain dead.

When I want my science fiction fix, I've got The Expanse and Star Wars Rebels. I'm satisfied with science fiction that doesn't put me to sleep while stimulating my imagination.

When in the fuck did this become the common negative response from the intellectually challenged left on this site?

I really am hearing good things about this show from people whose opinions on these things I trust. But that paywall is kind of annoying. I may just wait for the first season to come out on DVD or Bluray, that way, I at least have something physical if I am putting down money to watch.

This is for everyone: no disruption, forum drama or political stuff here. If you guys want to talk about Star Trek and address points relevant to it fine. But no more having things leak out from the pundit forum into here. This is only time I am going to say this.

It was so boring and WTF was with that robot on the bridge? The Klingons looked like they were wearing plastic masks. The captain was monotone and none of the crew other than Saru were memorable. Obviously, Number One was memorable for her actions and being annoying, but other than that... The opening music, credits, etc. were far from inspiring. This show doesn't know what it wants to be.

Like I said, stupid, I'm not going to pay $ to watch an hour of TV that should be free when the long-ass previews looked like utter shit. You'd have to be a moron to do so. Then again, you are.

Then why are you posting in a discussion about a tv show you haven't watched?

CBS has it! S new ''GIMME' GIMME! GIMME! '' channel where you pay to view AND get barraged by commercials.  Disney is taking everything from Netflix and movie it to it's own ''GIMME! GIMME! GIMME! '' channel.  Everybody is starting their own little ''GIMME! GIMME! GIMME! '' channels to squeeze a few more nickls out of the American public's ever more strapped hands.

Corporations love to figure out ways to give people less and less money, and how to stop people getting money by suing them when they wrong people.  Meanwhile they are always working on a new scam to get more and more money out of people. Fees,  penalties,  hidden charges,  new 'services' that you used to already get but now hage a new 'fee'. Adding advertising to every fucking thing in sight.

Fuck capitalism. I'm sick of it.  After seeing the real problems of capitaliam I no lo get fear socialism.

Guys don't make these posts in the regular forums. You can do this in the Pundit forum until your heart is content or until he closes the thread down, but don't bring it here, the general forum, etc.

It is good, just keep in mind it is own thing in using the Star Trek Mythology. It not as good as the Expanse and I am glad that the Orville is available as an alternative. But it was worth my time watching and I am planning to see what happens next. The third and fourth episode will be crucial as the end of the 2nd changed things up for the main character.

I will say it is definitely something new and different for Star Trek.

As for the subscription service, I don't have cable and for the last couple of years I bought the season pass  off of Amazon Video including the Big Bang Theory. So by subscribing to CBS-All Access I save a little in the budge I allocate for streaming. But this may not be true for everybody.
