This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Pundit or other pipe aficionados who might know something about pipes in history, in a game I'm in I'm playing a snobby professor in the 1930s from a well-to-do family who disdains all but the finest things in life.  He is, among other things, a pipe-smoker.  What kind of pipe might he have been smoking back then?

By the 1930s Dunhill pipes were considered the finest pipes in the world, and had largely replaced meerschaum pipes as the hallmark of the "elite" pipe smoker. The Dunhills, who's trademark was the "white spot" (a little white dot on the stem) were quite expensive for the time (an add from that era that I once saw had them priced at about $17 each, in an era when a comic book cost ten cents), and made of only the finest quality briar.
