Hi everyone,
My Favorite politics blog is back (as of January 1st) and they have and have posted the Saddam Hussein Execution Video.
The video can be found here (http://www.thewaronlies.com/?p=3)
Feel free to discuss it
Not to be too cynical, but do we know this authentic? I mean it looks real, but can someone do the leg work for me on authentication?

Good point. Although this is the video that they have been showing parts of on the news, it could be fake.
But I would think the news agencies would check it before airing it.

:rotfl:
That's, perhaps, the funniest thing I've seen here in a while...
Most people still have an altruistic view of the media, which of course the media fosters and sells right along side the news, and so I don't get upset when people ascribe more integrity to the media than I would. (Not that Blue Devil is necessarily doing that. I am only speaking in generalities here, broad strokes.)
Once upon a time, news was boradcast at fixed times od the day, barring an emergency or urgent bit of data, lika an assassination, impending disaster, etc.
Then came CNN and 24 hour news, and suddenly every bit of possible news must be broadcast AT ONCE to avoid the competition getting the jump on you.
God forbid that the instant news sources take a fucking nanosecond to verify or vet the lastest bit of data to surge in over their fiber optic lines or satt links, doing that might let the competition get the jump on you, and it's not about news, it's about ratings.
Or, as news sources seem to be implying today, it was about one or more Iraqi officials wanting to have the video to taunt opposing parties and shame Sunnis - or some such.
The fact that it then gets out is a bit of a yawn. Once something is recorded it will get out.
